My favorite consistency for beard butter is thin, a butter for me is lighter than a balm and if I want the hold I would just use the balm. Love the review!

Love the Legend scent. Better oils out there for the price. Butter conditions better than any I've tried, little tacky going in compared to others. They just came out with a new scent "the Executive", leather cedar, vanilla.

thegentlounge by definition is the only real beard butter, IMO, from the consistency, you can mold and shape it, its firm, and yet it turns into a very nice oil rubbing into your hands, its like magic! it's amazing stuff! But i also like spongy/wet beard butters, they're both good in their own ways

I’ve had their American butter/oil for a while and it’s amazing. The scent is really strong which I like. I also have the Wingman which smells like an orange right in your face. Not a big fan of it. I just received the Executive and was surprised that the scent was no where near as strong as the others and am a bit disappointed. However, their butters are incredible.

The only butter I have ever tried is the Detroit Beard Butter. I was skeptical of butters and never used them or was interested in using them. But after watching Dan C rave about them. I was like I’ll give them a shot and wow was Dan right! I use them every night now and it makes a HUGE difference. Softer thicker hydrated beard that is so much easier to style and shape! I will never go without using a butter a night now

I got the American oil wash and butter. It loses its smell after a couple hours for me. Best packaging I’ve seen yet though. The longest lasting oil I’ve found is Beard Baron fireside. Both great smells!

I do love the Legend also tried their American scent samples which I like as well. Plan on trying their other scents samples. What I agree about the butter consistency is different and not sure if I would call that butter. As other say, it is consider butter without the beeswax. It does style my beard easily. The greasy residue doesn't bother me since as long it is not too greasy on my hands and beard. It is a very reasonable price for a 4oz butter is a plus, that's for sure! 👌🏻

Only Beard Butter I've ever used was Bear Brawler Beard Butter. I think they closed up shop. Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, Argan Oil. Some say Honest Amish "Better than an Oil" Beard Balm is a Butter, but I consider it a Balm. I like Beard Butter; thinking of Fresh Beards or Detroit Grooming or Live Bearded or ? Live Bearded Wash instead of co-wash appeals to me -- I like co-wash, and I like the simplicity of fewer products as long as results aren't sacrificed.

I wish I would have gotten to try their products before the rebranding. I love their wash and conditioner and I use a few of their oils often but the butter is a little sticky and I feel like I need to wash it out the next morning.

When it comes to butter I like a medium consistency. One that emulsifies well, is smooth and absorbs quickly into my beard. Hands down my favorite butter comes from Detroit Grooming Co. not only their butters but they are one of if not my favorite company for beard care products!

Hi Dan, I love watching your videos. My opinion on butters... while I love many scent profiles of butters that contain beeswax, I am a butter purist. The beeswax almost always ends up giving me a crispy feeling as time goes by whereas a pure butter seems to continue to soften the beard thru the day. Live Bearded is definitely one of my favorites. I own the entire line but only have Straight Up wash. There definitely is a benefit in using all 3 wash, oil, butter for a specific look and feel in beard but in the end... their butter is the star of the show.

Not sure exactly what beard butter is, but I have never found a need for it. That being said, I also have never found a need for beard oil, either. I use both conditioning and heavy holding balms, but that is it. My beard is getting long and is always super soft and healthy.

I just recently got the Detroit grooming beard Butters I'm really enjoying them I think the best beard butter is the one that works best for your beard and if you're happy with it more power to you.

I don't use beard butter so much I do how ever really like cremo beard and scruff softener its almost like hand lotion packed with bear oil but one more drop of oil would break it. it goes in smooth and easy doesn't offer any hold but has great conditioning effect. I have used wild willies beard butter which I don't recommend to anyone if you're into skeet shooting its good for that if you run out clay pigeons

Sooooo i just have to point out first... that someone must have accidentally hit the thumbs down? (So whoever you are, fix it please) ok so beard butter, becoming a huge fan of moisturizing without hold at night! Ive actually made my own butter and like the results. Super smooth and quick to emulsify. Polar opposite of you when it comes to scent this time-- i love love love the spiced citrus and clove smells!! Love the diffuser bottle they have👍🏼👍🏼 great video, after your take on their wash, body/hair/and beard i will be adding this to the " i want " list. as always i find it takes me like 10min longer than your video to watch them because i keep pausing and taking notes👍🏼👍🏼

I have yet to try a proper butter. I will try Beard Octane and DGC. I don't expect any hold or wax feel and just want hydration and conditioning properties. Whipped or soft butter is what I'm expecting. ✌

Then you will what to lean more towards beard octane! They are whipped and sooooo amazing! DGC is equally as amazing, but not what you are looking for. They have a heavier body and it does have beeswax.

You should definitely check out The American by them. It’s such an awesome smell. It reminds me of campfire or a fireplace burning in a log cabin. Their newest one Gunslinger is similar but smells like cigars. No need to review them. Just sending a friendly recommendation from one beardsman to another..

Beard butter should be for conditioning. I’ve tried four beard butters uncle Donnie’s, debonair.silky grooming,and maestro’s. I don’t like the lotion type beard butters. Live bearded I haven’t tried yet.

Ok Dan, I threw out the Beard Guyz after only 2 uses, went back to Live Bearded Legend, and ordered Fresh Beards campfire scented (your favorite, lol) butter and 2 oils. Did I do good, Masterful Teacher? I have to admit, a big factor in that choice is the company logo, I wanted that as a personal logo, lol. So I ordered a couple hats too. I hope I didn't waste $55 (both hats were on sale plus 15% off the order)

I personally would not try it on my beard, just because I do not think there is a lot of experience or information on biosilk for beards. I do not want to be the one who tests it first lol

You can apply beard butter at any time. It is like beard balm but with less wax. More for nourishment than hold. The best time to apply is before bed at night

Great review Dan. This company has been on my radar for a while now. I wish I would of bought that new scent they had. So I might wait till they get that back in stock. Believe its vanilla, leather and either cedar or sandalwood. I've used a few different butters now. I haven't tried the sponge paste type yet. I've used Detroit grooming, honest amish, and manly. All have body to them and I really enjoy them at night. I just got a whipped butter by debonair and only used once so far and I do enjoy it. Keep up the great reviews!

I found this video after having used a gift of #livebearded 's starter pack. It came with a beard brush and comb, a beard boost dietary supplement, beard wash, oil, butter and a mustache wax. I was impressed by the wash, oil and the butter. As for the butter I would say any "butter" needs to stay away from adding wax as we already have a type of product called beard wax. Easy. But I'm ready to really try out this live bearded stuff as I never really knew why my beard was so itchy all the time and thought it was because I wasn't getting it clean enough. Nope just needed the beard oil. #Educated
