I have filled in chasing on plated silver two different ways. First way was to use graphite paint to fill in the chasing marks. I painted the area, then sanded with 800 grit dry only, then painted again and sanded until it was fairly level. Then I took a brush plating kit and I added a coat of copper over the area, then nickel, and then a really good coat of silver going over the whole piece to blend the area. The second way was to simply use the plating brush only on the area of the monogram itself, eventually filling it with silver plate and then sanding the area lightly before buffing. I went through a ton of plating fluid but it worked great. A monogrammed silver plated item isn't lost... it just takes dedication to fix it.

It needs to be borned in mind (as it was mentioned in gideo) that --'if it is not plated' etc. This means that removing any metal plating will need plating to be applied again on the entire item.

I’m confused… Do I go over the entire surface and keep it flat?-JUST KIDDING!!😁😁 GREAT VIDEO!! I see fantastic deals on beautiful sterling pieces but they’re always monogrammed! I’m about to purchase an authentic Tiffany piece for a STEAL and try your technique! THANKS!

Are there different types of sandpapers depending if you are working with wood or metal?

I like you videos but can't agree on this one. I think it adds character and charm.

I can understand that. I’m sure the initials had a really cool story. It was a cup that we’ve been using quite a bit lately, So I figured I clean it up. 👍👍
