it was an evening filled with remarkable talent. I feel very fortunate to have been there for Garrison's farewell performance.

This brings back memories of Saturday nights at my old house in Thornton, CO when my daughters were preschool age and we would dance to songs playing on the radio on the Home on the Prairie show. We'd move the coffee table out of the way and dance to all the old songs.

The mandolin solo in this performance has stayed with me for months. I know it's silly, but it's just such a perfect solo, subtle yet creative, skilful but tasteful. Anybody know who the player is? EDIT: Richard Kriehn!

I did not realize that these things were so well attended.

It's funny, people think APHC is some niche radio show on public radio. it's actually quite huge and carriers NPR on its back. If you look at the Nielsen averages, APHC draws roughly 3 million people a week. That's bigger than "Modern Family" (1 million a week), "The Bachelorette" (1.06 million a week), and "Big Bang Theroy" (1.8 million a week) just for some examples.

Simon, I think its Peter Ostroushko. He's been a regular with his mandolin on PHC over the years. And he's always a standout.

Eventually found out it's Richard Kriehn. Thanks though!
