So ? Majority of funds were allocated under the NDA regime and on top of that this was delayed purposely by the state Govt. ...Two Center Governments under NDA gave funds so the Center Will take credit .

Metro Rail is has always been a project of the Central Govt. so its natural for the PM to inaugurate things related to it . Yes you are right but the state Govt. made sure it can make the progress as slow as possible . Even today if you go to Nabadwip from Kolkata you will see that the center wants to create four way highways but the state Govt. refuses to clear the settlements ...This way the center ends up spending more and the project ends up taking more time .

@@Galavya41I knw pm has to inaugurate the project of cg....but d project is not even completed...phase 1 n phase 2 was completed....phase 3 was not completed cos of bowbazar incident....n thn thy rush to phase 4 which howrah Esplanade line....n thy inaugurate it like d whole thing is completed.... basically cg want something to show before election so tht thy can say tht thy did something for Kolkata..... Jst thy CLD HV postponed the whole thing...but na ekhoni dekhate hobe....

@@BoseDkbhag Yes..Thats how politics work and most people already know that there is still some work remaining ...Indira Gandhi Govt. too had inaugurated Metro in 1984 when it was just 3.5 Km completed and many of the stations were not even built . So ? At least with the present Govt. one is sure that they are serious when it comes to infrastructure . Let alone WB but the work which has happened in the rest of the country is very very good . I live in Bhubneshwar and the projects which Center and Odisha State have developed together are amazing .

@@Galavya41 actually it is true tht in 1984 Indira ji inaugurate 5 station only but tht was the 1st metro rail of India things HV changed in d recent year....u cnt compare tht period with now...wht kind of logic is ths....n btw tht phase 1 Esplanade to netaji bhavan phase 2 was completed within 2 months dum dum to belgachia....n so on n so on.....but this time sealdah to Salt Lake is alrdy up n running....tht is also phase 1 n 2 of the east west line....phase 3 is not completed cos of bowbazar incident.... so yes thy did this to show d people of Kolkata tht cg has done development right before election
