I met Chris at San Jose City College in 1979. We started the same year and when he took his first solo in Jazz Improv, everybody's jaw dropped and he continued to blow minds whenever he played. I went to his house once to jam and his room was plastered with posters of his heros. His mom made us some "snacks" at his request. He would go see Robben Ford play and record his shows and learn his licks from the tapes. He'd always be talking about his "Robben tapes". Chris is one of the sweetest people I've ever met. Humble, unassuming and a king of the blues but what most don't know about him is that he can play ANYTHING.

I was at San Jose City College as well. He played on a song i wrote. We performed it at a composition recital. Great memories. Chris is just as awesome now as he was back then.

VERY fine evaluation, Mr. Funky, very well done all the way up and down the player and person ... good job. Chris is sort of a white BB King / Albert King. These kinds of guys pretty much get up in the morning playing a guitar and fall asleep with it across their chest when they finally crash. Just found out about him this Wednesday, 4 March and glad I did. So nice to hear a player who can play clean, this melodic and passionately. I personally have been playing 58 years, so's I knows what I'se talkin' about!

Chris' phrasing is actually so good I can't help but smile and laugh with joy when I hear it. It's like he predicts what my ears desperately want to hear, and not only plays it, but plays it 10 times better than what I could hope for. Just pure talent.

Absolute best guitar player on the Planet ! If you look up the word " BLUES " in the dictionary you will see a Picture of Chris Cain !! So authentic , but still being original , he can blow anybody else off the stage by opening his guitar case ! The best Blues guitar player I have ever heard , I am a guitar player , and playing in Blues bands since 1963 . 71 years old now , and hoping I can get a chance to see Chris before I die !! Thank God for youtube , or I might never have heard of him ! Have been a fanboy of his for the last several years !

Chris is an absolutely beast on guitar alongside The mighty Stevie Ray Vaughan , I saw SRV with Albert King , BB King , and Clapton , what a show without disrespecting anybody in this amazing lineup , and yes I am also a blues rock guitar player , SRV just smoked , at one point they were all just watching SRV just blow the lid off , I say all these things because I think Chris is equally a beast and can stand next to any of those blues players awesome playing 👍👍

Top man! Very under rated and fairly unknown for the level of his talent he should be a Global "Name" not just among those of us who love the blues and also even I only came across his music a couple of years ago as he's not that known in England just I'm a massive blues fan and all over YT all through lockdowns! (Even saw an old Back stage documentary type film of him back in the 80s or early 90s I think he has a moustache and looked like Ross out of friends "When he was I to his music"!) Chugging beers like water then went out on stage and slayed it out in Australia! Lol seriously great guy, seems proper nice fella and genuine from everything I've watched and that's a lot now tbh and he seem the kidnof guy that just eat breathes lives and sleeps guitar his whole love it's an extension of him! (I'm sure I saw him play drums and bass on one video unless I'm mistaking him for someone else!?) He's great when he pays some of the duet gigs he's done at Buddy Guys club and that top club in Maui (name slips my mind Sugar Mill I think?) Bit he's just sublime the way he can okay ANYTHING with anyone just jam and slip seamlessly from playing singing lead to rhythm and back n forth and really add to the sound not just fill gaps but add to the other guys playing it's great to watch! Cheers from London England 😎👍🏴🇬🇧🎸

@@miccops0073 Well that sounds very reasonable but that is what we all do. It's the others that always get the headlines. SRV was great but quite predictable and the other 2 are just copies in my opinion.
@miccops00733 жыл бұрын
@@hesch-tag Well man everybody has an opinion for everything you know hahaha, I think that the commitment of a guitar player ( blues player,etc...) is to transmit something to the audience. SRV can be predictable sometimes because everybody has stolen some of his licks and has tried to play like him, but he always makes you feel it, BB king is also predictable most of the time but he drops jaws you know hahahah. About Sayce and Shepherd I totally agree hahahaha, Peace and Love brother❤️

The most stunning thing is that Chris plays what he feels, how he wants , when he wants, all over the neck in a unpredictable way. To say the truth, he is not a shredder, he just plays the right notes at the right moment, thats what blues is all about.....he does whatever he wants with the guitar....this guy plays too much 🤦
