This is best review I could find on YT so far of the Lofi-12! Thank you so much for taking your time for this. This is my first Liven and I am enjoying it so much already. Boy how I wish I had these kinds of "Toys" back in the days... You helped me create my first two Beats on it with the included Stock sounds. My next Beat will have some Samples of my own in it. :) Happy Holidays!

The depth to the right of the cutoff refers to the envelope generator (EG) amount for the cutoff, not the LFO. So you can have the filter sweep up or down (this is why it goes from negative to positive) every time a note is triggered and also have it effected separately by the LFO.

This tutorial kicks so much a** bro! Extremely detailed and easy to understand. I’d love to hear you bang out a boom-bap beat. I heard one today on Instagram by a dude using the new Lofi 6 and it was nasty. It had that thick and gritty SP-1200 sound. Thanks again bro, have a good weekend.

great vid. very helpful. when you copied the pattern, how were you able to record the automation you did with the filter and cutoff? was it because you had parameter lock on? it's not necessary to have that particular track in record mode?

This is a good place to start. Too many people download fruity loops and then learn how to make beats by a program doing everything for you. That's why you take those guys and throw them in a real situation with equipment and they can't do a f****** thing. So starting out the manual hard way is the best way. You learning this way which is way more of an old school way, it will force you to use your ear and creativity and you will exercise that muscle far greater than anyone staring at a computer screen could. Trust your ear be patient and keep at it.

So parameter lock lets you select samples per step in a track? I originally thought you would load a drum sample and set different trim points per step.
@ChrisLodyMusic2 жыл бұрын
That's right. It can also be done the way you describe. You can record a break and then automate the Start time parameter to trigger different parts of the sample as the sequencer plays
@BlezzBeats2 жыл бұрын
Exactly, @ChrisLody has a video breaking that down perfectly it seems :D I'll link to it in the description.

Gotta know does that gameboy let you get sounds out of it to the synth and if so how
@BlezzBeats2 жыл бұрын
Yeah sure, you'd just sample it like with anything! I use LSDJ for the GameBoy stuff. If you wanted to go the extra mile in geekery there are ways to MIDI-sync it too.

nvm i just figured it out ! for anyone that needs help with what to do. select a pattern -> hold the clear button "CLR" and press the pattern button "PTN" -> hold the function button and save the pattern. you now have an empty ready to use pattern !

Can it record live external audio as a short pattern for loops FYI I bought a modded gameboy and mGB and arduinoboy to add gameboy synth to things lol your video may have triggered that

Yeah takes some getting used to for sure, I feel it's more like a keyboard sampler than anything. Take a sound sample it and loop it and get a nice gritty sound from it.
