A LiveNOW from FOX rewind on the new details revealed this week in the Gilgo Beach murders case, including details on what led to a break in the investigation and Heuermann’s wife's reaction and filing for divorce.
Rex Heuermann is charged with first- and second-degree murder in connection with the deaths of three victims - Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman and Amber Costello. He's also the "prime suspect" in another woman's murder, according to police.

From what I understand, they didn't investigate that car 12 years ago. The new team went back through the files and discovered the car and discovered he had the same car. They may have been able to find him 12 years ago if someone took the time to find out about that black Chevy avalanche.

They did not investigate anything on purpose. Also… it was the cell phone pings being narrowed down that made the connection to him, leading to look at the report from 12 years ago 🙈. At the time it was just a police report of who this prostitute ripped off days earlier because she turned up missing. It Meant nothing 🤷‍♀️. They didn’t make any connection or have any idea who he was or if this unknown person had any involvement in her disappearance. It was all based on true dedication to following and narrowing down the celll phone pings to Massapequa Park. Then finding that old police report of one of the victims being reported missing. Once the corrupt police were sent to jail in 2019 they put a new task force together and actually started the investigation.

The "roommate" was her pimp. She took Heuermann's money and then the pimp came in, claiming to be her irate boyfriend and threw Heuermann out. Why Amber chose to go with him after stealing her fee without providing sex is beyond reasoning unless either Heuermann or the pimp threatened her. According to the "roommate" she went without purse or cell phone and was never again seen alive. Don't make this guy into a hero, but the police should've paid attention regardless of circumstance.

There will be others connected he did not go this long all by his self. His brother and him are most likely going to be the only ones charged possibly the wife also knew and took part in helping to cover his trail but most definitely there are others involved from the legal community and I believe that Shannon Gilbert KNEW ALL IF THEM she was killed bc of her knowledge and years if experience in that and surrounding communities. She was highly sought for her service and she detested this monster, he made it his prime objective to kill her simply bc she most likely repeatedly refused service to RH SPECIFICALLY! He REPULSED AND TERRIFIED HER! RH was the hench man, brother possible that he was the dump driver and also I strongly believe it was Shannon's own driver who set her up and delivered her into his net that tragic night. If you hear the 911 call you hear her say "you are part of this!!" Most would think she was talking to RH, I believe she was talking to her driver/bodyguard and that's why she was seen running from that house, else why wouldn't she have just got back into the car with her driver? God Help the whole truth come to surface for these women and there families to find rest and close ur if there ever could be such a thing in a situation as this.

I have to respectfully disagree with the former FBI agent about his accusations about the other family members knowing about RH’s crimes & “Personality Disorder”, etc. I do not think they were aware of his murderous crimes, etc. I think he was a bully at home, just like he came across at work at times. I think they knew he was extremely sensitive about his privacy & things he didn’t want them to know. I think he probably came across as “nice”, when he needed to. Just like millions of other people do when it suits them. He certainly would not be the first husband/father to behave this way. I think victim blaming is not warranted in this case. The stepson with autism was not gonna be able to tell if something was off with RH, & wouldn’t be able to express it even if he did. The wife/mother was probably so worn out from taking care of her son, that she didn’t have time to worry about what her husband was doing or not doing. She probably couldn’t even work, because it costs more for a caregiver, than she would make. Their daughter worked with him at the office so I’m sure she, being his only natural child, was probably somewhat close to her dad & would never suspect anything was amiss. My point is that just because a man has certain habits that the family may not like, doesn’t mean they knew he was a serial killer, was addicted to snuff porn & child porn, etc. He was obviously able to hide his true nature from a lot of people for years. Cut these poor family members some slack! Geez! My prayers go out to all of the victims & their families! May justice be served for all of his victims!! Amen!!🙏🏻

Back when the bodies were discovered, the then Chief of Police of Suffolk County refused to call in the FBI and other agencies who could help. I understand he was later convicted of something and did jail time. The DA was also convicted of some crime too and did jail time. So the infrastructure to solve the cases was totally FUBAR back then. It took a new Chief of Police and new DA who committed to solving these crimes and within a year of them being installed in their jobs, they got the guy, but they identified him long ago through DNA and followed him for months to get his DNA and build their case, so BIG UPS to them!

Apparently the one who gave a description was one who was in on that.

Because the DA & Cheif of Police were incredibly corrupt. The Cheif pushed the FBI out of the investigation in an effort to hide his own corruption. The DA helped the Cheif cover up his crimes & corruption. The new guys in charge are the complete opposite of the old regime, they put a Gilgo Beach task force into place in Feb 2022 and identified Rex Heuermann as a suspect the following month.

Just imagine what it would be like, for a petite little girl, to be facing that bigfoot sized maniac staring at you with his anticipatory stare with murder in his eyes. It had to have been so terrifying. Those poor girls should never have had to face those circumstances. This case should be screaming at any escort worker to get out of the business, and get help, for any addictions. Just find a way, no excuses.

The people working in that service industry are so vulnerable when activities are not regulated or undertaken within safe, secure (& monitored) premises. Not an easy choice for the workers to start in this industry and given the market demand it won’t go away. It’s not known as “the oldest profession” for nothing, but it’s criminalisation unfortunately just provides predators and abusers with easy prey and virtual impunity, at least temporarily.
