WATCH: Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano erupting again | LiveNOW from FOX

One of the world’s most active volcanoes is erupting again in a remote part of a Hawaii national park.
Kilauea erupted briefly Sunday night in an area of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park that’s closed to the public. The volcano’s middle East Rift Zone eruption then resumed Monday night, U.S. Geological Survey’s Hawaiian Volcano Observatory said.
Eruptive activity increased early Tuesday but there is no immediate threat to homes or infrastructure, the observatory said.
Volcanic gas known as “vog” may reach downwind subdivisions near the park, the observatory warned.
The park encompasses the summits of two of the world’s most active volcanoes: Kilauea and Mauna Loa. But the eruption’s location in a remote wilderness area more than 6 miles (10 kilometers) from the nearest road doesn’t make public viewing possible, according to park officials.
During a Tuesday morning helicopter overflight, geologists said they observed fountaining eruptive fissures and active lava flows on the floor of Napau Crater.

As a resident I will tell you this, when it is not erupting is when I worry. You guys have to remember that it erupted for over 36 years consistently. So for us this is just another day.

@@thanos8914 actually even if lava covers your property it's still yours. Unless you decide to sell. And where I am it's not very likely. My neighborhood sits on sort of a high shoulder.

For 36 years there was vog. I live on oahu, in kaneohe. I remember the "kona winds" always bringing the vog to our island. Everything would look hazy.

whenever i hear that volcanos name i think "kill a whale" because it reminds me of the old ironic joke response from around the 60,s-80,s era "nuke the whales" mostly said by those tired of trying to save every whale possible. nowadays i just use it as a response whenever i see someone say something absolutely ridiculous and ludicrous that makes no sense. plus i know most younger people wouldn't understand the reference, making them confused until they look it up.
