Trump shooter's father speaks out for first time since assassination attempt | LiveNOW from FOX

The father of the man who tried to assassinate former president Donald Trump speaks out for the first time. Matthew Crooks was seen leaving a grocery store in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania on Monday, July 22. He said the family is trying to "take care of ourselves."
It's Matthew Crooks' first public appearance since the assassination attempt nine days earlier.
Crooks said in part quote: “we just want to try to take care of ourselves right now. Please, just give us our space."
He also said the family will release a statement once they are advised by legal counsel.
20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks was killed by a Secret Service sniper after opening fire at the Trump rally. Investigators believe that the ar-15 rifle used in the attack was legally purchased years earlier by Crook's father. The family is said to be cooperating with the investigation.

Let's not forget that these people are victims of the Secret Service's (or whomever's) incompetence, too. If their son had been properly detained, he would be getting the mental health treatment he so clearly needed (while awaiting trial) and they would still be parents, and wouldn't have to deal with ghouls like this. I mourn for Corey Comperatore. (I can't stand people saying "God protected Trump" because that implies He wanted everyone else to get shot.) But *two* families lost loved ones that day. They neglected to mention that access when they were called to the school earlier that day based on a drawing he made in class. They didn't look in his backpack or ask him if he had the gun, nor did they take him out of school that day as the school wanted - they refused. The school was IMO just a negligent in never searching his backpack or locker then letting him stay in school (and go back to class) when the parents refused to take him. Also, in that case the shooter was underage, that wasn't the case here despite living with his parents.

Can you imagine if your child tries to kills someone and ends up dead? That must be SO difficult for them to swallow...As a mother I feel for them. They also lost a son. God bless them and give them the courage to face a-holes, media and the hard true of losing a child. They should be left alone...Back off people.. What do you want to hear, how sad they feel about their son attempting to kill someone? How much shame they may feel? How much pain they are going through for losing their son? I bet you can imagine that on your own...don't need to torment them more than they already are.

Both psychologist, what have they been teaching their son ? Something wrong with this, their kid tried to wipe a president, they can't play the victim. They raised him.
