I was recently diagnosed with Fatty Liver Disease, Hienal Hernia and Esaphagitis. I was suffering with vomiting and GERD. I am finding that the root cause was my diet and lack of exercise. Now after 1 and 1/2 weeks of cutting out carbs, bread, baked goods, fried foods and sweets and eating more Salmon, Cod, broccoli, I am already feeling much better. My stomach bloating has been reduced significantly. I didn’t realize that when your stomach has a lot of inflammation, it can expand into the diaphragm and presss up against your heart. I was also having shortness of breath related to all of this. If you have Liver disease and like me not from Alcohol, seek help to see how you can help reverse the damage naturally.

Oh gosh! Yes, non alcohol related liver disease is very common. The damage can be severe before a person realizes. Unfortunately sometimes the health care providers may discount concerns or possibly jump to an incorrect conclusion. So glad you are getting help and seeing improvement already! Keep making the changes that will improve your health. Thank you for sharing this.

Thank you for your very interesting and clear video. I am currently going through this with my husband. He has been a heavy drinker for over 30 years. He was hospitalised twice in 2021 with bleeding varices. He did not quite drinking. He has continuous health issues and has that sunken face, eye sockets and muscle wastage. He somehow will not connect this to alcohol in his mind and stop. I understand that none of this is good 😢

That is a heartbreaking story. I hope you are able to get support for both of you. If he qualifies for extra help that comes to your home, it can make the difference you both need. You are wise to prepare and learn about his illness. Continue to be strong and hope for improvement. The liver has incredible potential for improving. Thank you for sharing this with us.

I wish I had you tube 20 years ago, you both explained so much . I was 30 lbs overweight but very active having 4 children, allshe said me was be cautious on how much you eat and I am not a drinker

Oh my goodness, Yes! It is certainly a frightening diagnosis. The decision to learn more about what lies ahead is Is a courageous one. It can be overwhelming to consider what might lie ahead. For some patients and families, it is truly traumatic to battle with a decision to not know and fear the unknown, or to learn more and fear a worst case scenario. We admire the bravery that you and your family had to help your loved one through such a difficult time.

my best friend, someone i knew for 30 years and lived with for 20 years, he got this. he went from 170lbs to 130lbs or less in 6 months, i came home one day, on 02/09/2024, he had ended his suffering himself. rip dear friend, you were my family, may god take you to the better place.

The side effects of this medicines really significantly decrease the quality of life. May your dear friend Rest in Eternal Peace. We hope you can get help of bereavement counselors in your area as this is free benefit in most communities. It is a safe place to process your great loss.

My special-needs 23-year old son was diagnosed recently with benign tumors in his liver and the MRI stated these were Focal Nodule Hyperplasia. My son is non-,verbal and we have no communication with him. I would love to know what to expect for him as I'm very concerned.

Benign Nodular Liver nodules is not as worrisome of a diagnosis as many other liver issues. If the diagnosis is correct, these lesions are often incidental findings with more concern than actual risk associated. Typically these are uncovered in the process of looking for another medical concern. They can but are not likely to change over time. Routine follow up on a regular schedule basis is suggested. It is important to consider the What If’s and how a change might be addressed. This is a very special and unique circumstance that you have outlined. Please discuss this with the Primary Care Team as well as the GI specialist involved to outline the appropriate plan and consider decisions should something adverse occur. I will keep your son and your family in my thoughts. I hope this concern remains only a concern. I admire your work caring for him and thinking of his wishes.

I am so sorry. That is really difficult news to learn. I hope that you are able to have many good years even though you have liver damage. Some areas have Palliative teams developing and when you are eligible, consider Hospice. You can always ‘revoke’ hospice if you don’t like the service and if you become a candidate for treatment and your prognosis improves, they will discharge you. Neither of revocation nor being discharged costs you and you can sign up again without penalty. Best wishes.
