Chef speaking here, this is my wheelhouse. The best source for biotin, is Oregon meat. The best way to get that is through liver that is grass-fed grass finished cooked 1 minute on each side. The longer you cook it, the more nutrition leaves the meat. If you cannot eat liver because you don't like the flavor of it, this is the next best alternative. If anyone tries beef liver itself once a week, you will see a huge difference in your body. More so than the capsules. Capsules do work though!

Dan, I’m 61 and my beard is 16” long. After tons and tons of research I went full carnivore (eliminating all plant food) about 15 months ago. For athletic reasons, I also take a lot of supplements, including collagen and creatine. There is a visible demarcation in my beard at the 8” mark where my beard is much fuller than the lower 8”. There might be a slight color change too from grey to blond. If I was giving advice to Sam, I’d tell her to read Sally Norton’s book, Toxic Superfoods, and then go on a full carnivore diet. The carnivore diet changed my life!!!

Came here to say this. Why not eat liver? Only if you like liver, of course.
@DanCBearded26 күн бұрын
Oh I’m a big proponent of eating the source, but I just don’t enjoy it. We do eat some ground beef that js mixed with liver. Another “why” is capsules are so simple and quite literally the same thing. Just ground up liver in an easier form for me.

@@DanCBearded I am not a fan of the taste too. But it's one of the cheapest products because to most people it's trash and the butchers can't sell it. With some butter Onions, salt and pepper it's edible 🤣🤣

Dan, important beard question. Say hypothetically a man who routinely uses beard oil, or any moisturizing beard product, gets a cut on his finger or the palm of their hands, and have to wear a band-aid. What should he do in that situation?

@DanCBearded my concern is if possible germs and bacteria from the cut get into the beard. Plus, I imagine the products would make the cut sting.

I don't exactly have a lot of experience eating straight up organ meat, so a capsule seems a little bit more doable if I were to give it a shot. The nutrients of organs are well established, though.

My wife and I really enjoy taking the organ supplements from Ancestral Supplements! We have a variety of different ones, but we started with the liver! The liver definitely gave us a boost of energy and mental clarity, so we assumed that the quality would be across the board and it hasn't disappointed!

My grandmother used to make liver for my grandfather and it had the most wretched pungent odor. I was so grateful no one made me ear it! I mean, if someone puts "worst" in the name of a food, believe them. That said, if something nasty is really good for you and able to be put into pill form I can often do it. Collagen is something I can only take as pills, and fish oil too. With fish oil capsules I still get that flavor of fish coming up from my stomach. Would the same be true with liver pills? Would I taste liver later in the day or have the odor of liver on my breath?

I think this is the Liver Kings brand. Even though he had a steroid scandal, he seems to really know what he is talking about concerning liver and other organ supplements. My mom was always a big believer in the health benefits of liver. I was a big believer in the disgusting taste of liver so...a supplement may be the way to go.

I've thought about it buying some for a few weeks now just haven't. I have read where some people said to take 2 or 3 pills first for a while to see how it effects them then work their way up to 6 of them. Is that what you did or did you just take 6 right from the start? The only thing stopping me is the price... Only income and having a 6 and a half month old is rough lol.
