Home schooling is massively underrated. Providing that the parents have got their heads screwed on. A few of my friends homeschooled their children until secondary school age. The kids are fantastic and super intelligent. Head and shoulders above the kids in their year at secondary school. These kids are in safe hands and what a fantastic life they've got ahead of them

We stick to an organic, refined sugar free diet and read labels to see what’s in stuff before we choose what to put into our bodies which results in no toxic smelly poos too…cos everything we have is health beneficial and natural …and delicious x x x Well done for grabbing the dream and making it happen x x x

Wow! I cannot believe how much vicious judgement y'all get just for choosing your family's best life! Your van is great; your simplicity and joy in each other, and the world around you is a breath of fresh air. People complaining about no privacy maybe don't realize how many families with small children all end up in the same bed by morning anyway. Many families even choose to have one giant bed, as families have slept for millenia. We just went from a 700 sq ft one bedroom home, to a 450 sq foot studio flat, and our daughter gained a "room" (a slightly enclosed nook) of her very own. She jumps on her bed sometimes, occasionally sits to read or play with soft toys, but she stlill chooses to sleep and play in our bed. In my case, I love it, as I recently became bedridden, so it means more quality time with her. She has seen me researching van life, and now really wants to live in a "van house" 😊

If land were remotely attainable and affordable then no doubt a base could be formed around that also. I'm still looking or trusting that a path opens up to be able to put the van on, simple cabin space and grow the foods that I have done and do, just not as yet on land I get to call or use as my own. You just have to keep revving your engine at 1700 rpm while you are coocking / using powerful kitchen appliences Revving at idling , do not need to drive. This way no electricity will be lost from your batteres. Also to recharge your batteries you only need to do same thing 3 times per day. 3 times , 15 minutes each time. Use many candles a a heater when needed. 14 candles for +8C night temperature is enough for example. Just barrier or cover them somehow for safety. + Gps tracker hidden inside. Enjoy

I removed the water and gas from my van. I live with just a log burner. Id like to know how they cope in winter where you can open your door at 10.30 and close it at 14.30 if not you freeze. The daylight ours are about 5.
@samanthabird6514 Жыл бұрын
I guess there’s pros and cons to both seasons, in winter the days are shorter and we like getting in cosy with a movie on early and the kids settle down to bed a lot easier which is nice because then we get some time to ourselves. Whereas in summer the day lasts until about 10pm and we don’t get any time to ourselves. But summer you can be outside more so it’s easier for the kids to get out and run their energy off. That’s the most difficult thing in winter, especially if there’s lots of rainy days in a row. We have a diesel heater, usually we run it during the day through winter and found we only need it on during the night when it’s really icy (usually January). There’s a lot of body heat with 4 of us so that helps, it’s definitely noticeably colder if one of the adults is out.

Some will scope out areas before parking up maybe for days before especially if you don't know the area, ask land owners, if your not using anything some might let you stay for nothing, don't over stay your welcome. Don't be obvious and leave no trace. Make your van fit the scenery. Even try make everything on the outside removable i.e chimney if you have a burner or hide solar panels exc

And most unfortunately don't have the luxury of both nor wish to maintain the hamster wheel of lunacy to keep affording bills and mortgages to nowhere land. I'm sure they're well aware of their environment and no doubt when the conditions are right they'll find the next balanced path for themselves. House living is as mental as anything else, unless you're someone who happens to love what they do for money or has already bought a house outright. I love anyone using their freedom whenever they can and refusing to simply lie down and let the system take it's ever present fat bite out your ass!!

@@shreksoffspringUh, most Western kids... There are millions of children outside of Europe/Australia/US that live in small homes, one room homes, etc. For most of human history humans have lived this closely, and then spread out into outdoor spaces while awake. Heck, even within Western cultures, there are plenty of families either choosing or having to share tight space, be it a studio apartment in a big city, a large family in a pre 1950 (ie small) home, multiple families sharing one home, there are all sorts of reasons. My husband and four-year-old recently moved from our one bedroom home into a very small studio flat, and have been perfectly happy in both. In fact, my child really wants to make a "van house" now. Sure she doesn't fully understand all the ramifications, but then no one does until they actually do it.
