Liverpool Cathedral bells Saturday October 27th 2018

The bells of Liverpool cathedral during open practice on Saturday 27th October 2018. These are the heaviest and highest ring of bells in the world. At 82cwt or 4.1 tons the tenor is the heaviest bell in change ringing. And is a must for all bellringers. The bells were cast by Mears & Stainbank of Whitechapel London in 1939. And hung in the tower in 1951. A gift of money left by Thomas Bartlett in 1912, allowed these bells to be cast. Although Thomas Bartlett never lived long enough to hear them. His ashes are in the ringing room of the tower so he will always hear them. The video wash shot on the level above the bells. And shows them in action with the tenor in the far corner enjoy!
