I like Nunez, but Jota would have taken this Real Madrid defense apart, with his darting difficult to track runs and superb finishing. Diogo is better against the low block RM often falls back to. Darwin is better in an open game with space to run onto.

@@archieleach9697 Was very quiet, as most of Real's players were, even when he moved into midfield. Real definitely have major injury issues but they also have an absolute dream squad, Vinicius being out was a blow but should have been a chance for Mbappe to stamp his authority and it just never happened, they were missing a CB but they beat Liverpool comfortably a few years ago when Ramos and Varane both missed out etc and the midfield was still very strong. Whole team was very strong really, lots of world class players complimented by top tier youngsters like Endrick and Arda Guler and other solid squad players. Liverpool were just flat out the better team.

Nunez really deserved an assist with his beautiful pass to Diaz -- Luis just ran half a meter too far forward. Nunez actually makes quite a few excellent cutbacks, especially when he races to the line, but his teammates usually do not read the play quickly enough.

Bellingham need to try to be that player to try and replace kroos. Modric is too old to do it. He is the only player with the quality and technical ability to do it. Be more of a facilitator, dictate the pace of the game and be more disciplined in the position. It doesn’t make any sense trying to go forward or roaming in the forward line, when no one can get you the ball. Just look at Pedri and Gravenberch guys around his age. The entire function of the team is more important than individual goals.
