Here a Feyenoord supporter. Slot game is pressing with the 9 and 10, the wings stay with the backs. He wants the opponent to one side of the field and everyone tilts to compact the playing field for the opponent. they can only play long balls, which are easier to defend. The play from the back starts with luring the opponent's attackers, who are passed by with clever combination football to create an extra man in midfield. With that extra man, the opponent has to make choices about who to defend so that it is easier for the attackers to get into free space. With his way of playing he demolishes the opponent's pressing

Forest can be an aggressive team and we can get caught out if we don't match energy of lower ranked teams... All the slow starts after the international games and going behind so many times last season show we can be vulnerable. But the way we are playing with more protection and less advanced FBs gives us a better platform to play us back into rhythm.... So hoping its a good win and we use the subs with CL game in mind.

Liverpool 4 Forest 1 I think Chiesa comes on as a sub at Anfield for his first game and it will be this game. He'll get a great roar from the crowd. I think he'll score a goal or set one up, maybe both. Virgil must be given a new contract. He is clearly the greatest defender in the world. Mo Salah the same, he must stay at Liverpool. He is clearly the best right-winger in the world. Both those greats, plus Robbo, and Alisson (all in their 30's) will drive this squad onto win the premiership this season. They have to because time is running out for them to do it again. Slot's style fits this squad of players perfectly. All the signs are there for not just a successful season, but many more in the future. In the words of a great song from way back when ... the future's so bright I gotta wear shades 😎

Slot keeping the same side is another thing I love about Slot ball. Jurgen was always switching everything up and again, he would never cop to it as a drawback but it was even if he had to because injuries, some of which might have been due to or made worse from heavy metal and/or intensity (remember Pep Linders book title?). Slot is truly more measured AND ruthless in the best way possible. If you want to play and keep your shirt, stay healthy if you can. If you want to play, you'd better track back and show up in training like a boss. He's going to have to change things up for UCL which is fine; he has the squad to do this. But as you have the side, that's it for the league and I love it...BTW, when coming off international duty, keeping the side the same keeps players more in sync as they get their grooves back. It's a 2-0 with Forest, I predict, keeping no goals conceded thus far. And, Slot is great for conserving strength if he's done the business by minute 70...sorry if some fans don't get it but that's their problem. It's also a testament to FSG/LFC ownership/management that they've narrowed the gaffer position to head coach where the right guy, and Slot defines one right guy for sure, has been hired to strictly concentrate on the football. Slot will naturally stay in his lane and focus, focus, focus to our winning tendencies. We are absolutely title contenders and if people can't see this, they're blind. Now, I know this is veeeeery long-winded but with all the talk about contracts...FSG actually have to decide if they want to really make Liverpool into a recognized top tier 1 world class club. Right now, as they play moneyball and are over-concerned and maybe rightly about wages getting out of control, LFC deliberately keep themselves as only tier 2+ vs other big clubs paying for and attracting the very best which we won't bid on and maybe we shouldn't. But, what about the pressure of winning lots of silverware which looks possible under Slot? Why can't they keep doing what works at the present level of success and add in the "let's go after the true gods and get them" mentality? Maybe FSG just don't care (in a good business way) and they are happy with methods as they are believing that development and moneyball can suit the club forever. Can it? Or is there another level they have to go to? Do they need to step up and temper their proven conservativism with deciding if they're going to keep worldies around or let them go and rebuild? I think they might be, I emphasize might be penny-wise but pound-foolish with the net spend but I'm not sure. There may be a lot of good business reasons not to change. But, even if it isn't majorly in their control, at the very least, are they at least trying to time exits to maximize selling prices of superstars that won't stay? Can they do such a thing? For sure, they're infinitely wiser than me (like 100% sure!). However, might they be considering the temptation or the necessity to break the wage scale, no doubt, to keep Salah, VVD and TAA? Further, might doing so not also be a strategy to become the club par excellence that LFC potentially already are? I'm not sure they know but what do I know? I'm just asking the questions that are part of the dream to see the very best play for LFC. Though, I have to say that there's a part of me that loves that we do it on the cheap. There are plenty of simple fans who never think about the business of football and I'm not faulting them except when you know who whines too much about LFC not spending a half-billion to snap up the latest god. And, I wouldn't mind letting a Scouse wonderboy or an Egyptian king go if LFC's war chest got the gold bricks to buy an Mbappe or whoever becomes the next Messi...who is that guy?

No reason to change the starting line-up? We've had players play Tuesday and some of our starters have played 180 minutes during the international break, whereas others like Nunez have had a two week rest. Perhaps Slot will still go with the same starting eleven, but I think that saying that there is no reason to change the starting line-up for Forrest is a bit simplistic as the playing time over the past two weeks for some players, not to mention playing Tuesday then Saturday has to at least be a consideration.
