Rob Jones was such a great player, what a shame injury ended his career so early. Thanks for the upload Dave👍

Always appreciate you uploading these videos Dave. Always enjoy watching football before VAR and social media ruined it.

I was watching this last night and there’s a moment starting around 13:25 were Ian Rush makes a great run from a John Barnes through ball. I immediately thought, he wasn’t offside. The replay shows he wasn’t and I thought no VAR them days and then Martin Tyler predicts the future. He says "Well, if they ever bring in video evidence, situations like that would be a goal". It was just really mad that he said what I was thinking: I’m 43 now. I was a couple of weeks from being 13 and was on the Kop but not in my usual front row because I got to Anfield too late thanks to the buses from Kirkby not turning up 😂, and now I’m a bus driver 😂😂😂

Wow! Roy Castle! Havent seen him since 'Record Breakers'. He was a man for the good. Thank you Mr Dave Waller again and Keep Yourself Alive in '25. These vids are great👍

Even by Rushie v Everton standards, scoring while they were still showing replays of the previous goal was impressive. 😄

The last derby in front of the standing Kop. It was also Liverpool's last win over Everton before 1999, and Roy Evans' only win over them as manager. I don't remember Brett Angell at all. I hadn't ever realised until now that Sky Sports had actually missed Liverpool's first goal completely! Interesting in light of the never-ending uproar over VAR today to hear discussion of using video replays at 13:54.

I had completely forgotten that 5 year run without a derby win, although I have painful memories of some of the games in that period.

I'd forgotten about Preki. A mate was at Goodison and overheard a conversation about him. One lad suggested that it was strange he got a visa, as the rules said that you had to be better than any available British players. His mate responded that what the rules actually said was that there had to be no British players of a similar standard available, "..and I've never seen anybody in this country who is THAT shite."

Dear Mr. Waller, any chance you might be able to upload the 2000/01 derby at Goodison (Gary Macs freekick game) Absolute classic and can't find it anywhere
@DaveWallerLFCАй бұрын
Dear Mr Weston, I think I tried to upload highlights of that game a few years ago and it was blocked for copyright reasons. I can't remember whether it was Sky or the Premier League who blocked it, but PL era games seem to be blocked a lot more than the earlier stuff.

He was injured, but once he was fit James kept his place anyway.

Based on the amazing lfchistory site, his Liverpool career consisted of being an unused sub 3 times, so that's probably not a big surprise. www.lfchistory.net/Players/Player/GamesPerSeason/476-35

Me neither - looking online it seems he was on loan from Crewe, so presumably Brucie was injured at the time.
