I didn't come out for a warm-up but when we came out onto the pitch I got a fantastic reception from the Kop. What a great team this was back in 1987-88.... However we didn't do the double when we should've, and when i look back at it now.. Losing Lawrenson and Whelan to injury just maybe cost us...

At that time Liverpool team was the only team who played football on the ground, high intensity, short quick pass, pressing and high line.

I always felt that Nigel Spackman did a great job for us that season after Ronnie Whelan got injured. A bit of a shame he had to move in the following season but I guess it was not about big squads back then especially with only 2 subs allowed. I would also have liked to see Paul Walsh stay a bit longer but I guess getting 500k for him at the time was deemed as business for a squad player

@@DaveWallerLFC Yes you're right mate. I am missing some. I don't know why I left them out lol. Liverpool won 13 League Titles in a 25 year period before the PL came around people forget that.

@@DaveWallerLFC Also won 4 European Cups in a 7 year period. Amazing dominance Liverpool had back then and played some great attacking football too. Something we had in the 90s but had no trophies to show for it but in the 2000s won trophies but didn't play the best football but were involved in some of the best finals. But finally under Klopp we won the league again and everything else by playing breath taking attacking football
