The issue of the inheritance of the Prophet (SAW) and the Garden of Fadak is one that different strands of Islam view in different lights.

Great point! If the brave grandson of the Prophet (saw) Hussain (ra) did not forcefully give allegiance to the Khilafah then how can you expect his father Ali (ra) who was better and more brave than Hussain (ra) to give allegiance to Abu Bakr (ra) because he supposedly threatened to kill him - doesn't make any sense! In their hatred for the companions of Rasool Allah (saw) some people have seriously lost the plot and stoop so low as to represent Ali (ra) to be a coward - which we Muslims who love all the companions take strong objection too. SubhanAllah even blood brothers constantly have differences between themselves is it just too mentally challenging to accept that Abu Bakr and Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) had their differences yet loved each other and eventually came to a healthy understanding between themselves.

+Itachi Uchiha Reports differ about the timing of ‘Ali’s oath of allegiance to Abu Bakr. Hafiz Abu Bakr al-Baihaqi relates on the authority of Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri: ‘Abu Bakr ascended the pulpit and cast a glance on the people. He did not find ‘Ali among them. So he sent for ‘Ali and said, “O brother and son-in-law of the Prophet, would you like that the unity among Muslims should be torn to pieces ?” ‘Ali replied, “I have no grudge or complaint, O Caliph, of the Prophet.” He immediately swore allegiance to him. Al-Baihaqi adds that ‘Ali uttered these words or this was their purport. Ibn Kathir adds : ‘A significant aspect of this affair is that ‘Ali took the oath of allegiance on the very first day or the day following the death of the Prophet. This is correct in point of fact since ‘Ali never gave up Abu Bakr’s companionship nor he absented himself in any congregational prayer. It is commonly believed that ‘Ali did not initially take the oath of fealty to Abu Bakr in deference to the wishes and sentiments of Fatima. He took the oath publicly six months later when Fatima had died. Ibn Kathir and other historians are of the view that the subsequent oath of allegiance by ‘Ali was in confirmation of the first one.

+Itachi Uchiha Argument of Zayd ibn Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) against Rafidah: some goups of shia asked Zaid's position on Abu bakr and Umar. Zaid (RA) replied that ahlul bayt respected them and both of them were righteous leaders. Upon hearing such reply the shia group left Zaid (RA) and thus Zaid (RA) called them the rafidah. Mainstream Islam honours both the Sahaba and the family of the Prophet (saaws). But Shias like to bring up old stories of some disputes between Ali (ra) and the other Sahaba, and the Rafidha go extreme to curse EVERY Sahaba who might have had a different opinion to Ali. Also, Ali accepted the Khilafa of Abu Bakr, Umar and Uthman (radiallahu a'nhum). All Sahaba and the family of the Prophet (saaws) were believers, and many of the time their differences were settled. We should keep it that way and not unnecessarily bring up old quarrels.

Is there not an important difference between the Hadith of Abu Bakr and Abu hureyra? Where the prophet told, whatever I have left behind, **after having taken care of my family* is all going to be zadaka. Does it mean that Abu bakr could have made a mistake? But out of ignorance? Or am I making a mistake myself? Can someone clarify? the Quran is protected, and our prophet was the central point to go to. No one was perfect and we all problems started because our own mistakes! Hadith of our prophet was decentralised and was it an heavy objective for one person to makes chooses the prophet would do. Maybe was the responsibility for this money in the hands of the familie and not Abu bakr and would the family eventually used the worth for the needy. Abu Bakr had chosen to follow the sunnah and not the family, by making this verdict, because of that what he was maybe forgotten. And shaytan let us forget things…. It is easy to make this small mistake with good intentions. And the family respected his verdict out of nobility and respect I feel. I am sunni, I have a lot of problems with shia and their beliefs. However, it is very frustrating and annoying listening to the gross bias and twisting of reality that Yasir Qadi is delivering in this lecture. He actually contradicts himself as he quotes aaisha explicitly stating that Abu Bakr and Fatima never spoke, he just ignores that, yet he would quote asisha for all other hadith to prove his point on another matter, here he basically ignores it…

Brother Qadi, AssalamAlaikum. May Allah guide us all. Please throw light on the stark difference between the Sunnah of the Prophet and the Sunnah of the "Companions". The Prophet in a mere ten years turned even his arch enemies into friends. In contrast, the actions of the companions (except Ali) have sown hate between Muslims and non-Muslims. We are unwilling to see the connection between Kashmir and Israel (which are similar in principle to what the Muslims did to "others" when they had power over them). The prophet never initiated aggression against anyone. In contrast the "Sahaba" launched wars first against the Muslims who refused to accept the unjust usurpation (ridda wars). Ali was "FORCED" to accept the usurpation because the choice was destruction of ISLAM due a civil war at a delicate time or accept the aggressors of Islam and postpone the immediate destruction of Islam.

MashaAllah Sheikh you are doing your best to hide the truth....And from your speech, there are so much contradictions. At one point, you are mentioning Sahih Bukhari to be authentic and the most reliable source, and other instance, you put aside sahih bukhari (narration from ayesha RA) about fatima SA being angered on Abubakr and try to cover it up with another book. Second, How did Fatima become sick, do you know that? Why do not you explain the truth? Isn't it true that Umar and group (Khalid Ibn Walid, Abdurrahman Ibn Ouf, Thabit Ibn Shammas, Ziad Ibn Labid, Muhammad Ibn Maslamah, Salamah Ibn Salem Ibn Waqash, Salamah Ibn Aslam, Usaid Ibn Hozair, Zaid Ibn Thabit) burnt the door of fatima. Sheikh give a holistic view not the myopic view. And if you do not have enough study, go do some book reading and then explain on matters. Third, If Prophet(SAW) could not teach religion and fiqh to her daughter then what about the ummah? And which daughter are you talking, Fatima SA....She is syeda tun nisa il Alameen, head of the women of worlds. Prophet said she is part of me....whoever angers her angers me, and whoever angers me angers Allah SWT. (Hadeeth from Saheeh Al-Bukhari). So shaykh, if you want to speak the truth and make the picture clear, then do the analysis completely. Do not just try to pick sticks where you like them. Let me just give you one evidence from Sunni books (authentic books) Strong evidence of this transferral is that many commentators, including the famous Sunni commentator Jalal-Al-Din Suyyuti in the commentary book (Dar-Al-Mansour) under the Quranic Verse; «و آت ذا القربى حقه» (give the near of kin their due), has quoted from “Abu Sa’id Khadri” that, because this verse was descended, the Apostle of God (S) asked for Fatimah and granted Fadak to her. The words of this tradition are as follows: عن أبي سعيد الخدري رضي الله عنه قال: لما نزلت على النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم.الآية (فآت ذا القربى حقه) دعا النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم فاطمة عليها السلام فأعطاها فدك فقال: هذالك ولعقبك من بعدك. When the word of God was revealed saying that; “O’ Prophet! Give your near of kin their due”, the Apostle of God (S) granted Fadak to Fatimah (s.a.).

+Zain Abbas Three points to refute your narration from Dur Al-Manthur. 1. The narrator ‘Atiyyah ibn Sad al-Awfi al-Koofe is weak. 2. Surah Al-Isra' - since you have opted to share the commentary for verse 17 of the surah from the commentary by Al-Suyuti (rah) - is a Makki surah whereas Fadak came into play well after the migration to Madina. 3. The verse asks to give near of kin their "haqq" whereas you Shias still have not made up your mind if Fadak was gift or inheritance. You alternate between "gift" and "inheritance" depending on how bad the discussion turns out for you.

The narrator is Abu Sa’id Khadri”....And it is only from your trusted books..And i am not sure how are you saying verse 17 of surah isra...because it has no relation to the discussion......so search again. But it is the rule of debate, that when you want to prove/disprove, then use the other's reliable sources. +Zain Abbas Attiya narrated it from Abu Saeed, not Abu Said Khudri [ra] but passed it on as though he heard it from Abu Said Khudri [ra] which is why he (Attiya) is considered weak and his reports are rejected. It has no relation to Surah Al-Isra' verse 26? The commentary you have posted is for verse 26 of Surah Al-Isra' which reads, "And render to the kindred their due rights, as (also) to those in want, and to the wayfarer: But squander not (your wealth) in the manner of a spendthrift." (Qur'an 17:26) Do you see the relation now? Lastly, as I said, you guys cannot even make up your mind if Fadak was "gift" or "inheritance". Another point you cannot understand, nor answer, is why Imam Ali [ra] never took Fadak when he was the Caliph. Even Imam Hassan [ra], in his short rule, did not reclaim Fadak. So follow your Imams [ra] and drop the matter. PS - you have quoted a Makki surah in regards to a Madani issue and you say "Shias have very clear mind".

+Zain Abbas Lol the first proof that hadith is not a reliable Sunni hadith is because it uses the term Fatima aliha salam. we Sunnis use the term radiuallha anha to describe fatima just like any of the companions.
