Sorry you had a less than stellar experience. My wife and I took a Copenhagen to Oslo ferry several years ago and were fascinated by the flawless trip on a ferry that seemed solid as a rock. We are land lubbers from the central U.S. so every aspect was new and exciting. We have been on cruise ships too, but I’d take another ferry any day. Cruises are to me sort of meaningless. The breakfast served the next morning is still memorable years later. The choice of several kinds of pickled herring was a real treat. All in all, I’d take another ferry like this any time any place.

Thank you for watching and your comment. I’m so glad you had an unforgettable experience taking the ferry! There may be different types of cruises available and mine didn’t include good meal options. I did really enjoy the amazing views upon docking in Oslo in the morning!

@@JuliaKimMurphy Hi Julia when you open the door to your cabin you have to insert the card 3 times, i had some fun with that door to, till i found out *lol*

@@JuliaKimMurphy hi Julia. On the ferry in your cabin, if noise you go to the customer desk and complain about the neighbour or knock on his door. It s not allowed in the night make noises. Most tourists from May till September I think. Better March and April, less people but colder weather on the sea. But April till September great in Norway

I would seriously report the guy playing the accordion.. So selfish. Did he think no one else was in the ship?
@JuliaKimMurphy3 жыл бұрын
He seemed very involved with his accordion and when I asked him to stop at around 10 pm he promptly did. I think he was quite odd as a person but I guess not doing it to disturb anyone.

Those ships are cruise ferries with discotheques bars and cheap round trip deals in the weekends. Sail in the week.if you dont want noice. But she has bad luck. Who many schlep around accordions nowadays?!

Nice video. How did you get to Oslo centrum from where the ferry arrived? Were there bus ready to take you there or d you have to get to a train or take your car with you? My husband and I are planning to go but were unsure if it's smarter to take our car with us in order to have more time exploring Oslo
@JuliaKimMurphy2 жыл бұрын
There was just one bus waiting at the terminal and so many people got on it! It was a bit uncomfortable to be honest. Might not be a bad idea to take your car with you if you can.
@steinarhaugen76172 жыл бұрын
The terminal is at the tip of Vippetangkaia, just below Akershus fortress. From Jernbanetorget station, you can take bus 60 to Vippetangen. The bus journey takes about five minutes. Walking along the harbour promenade takes you from the terminal to the Opera house and the city centre in about 15 minutes.

@@JuliaKimMurphy bringing the car on the ferry is even more expensive. If you are going back the same day dont bring the car to Oslo. LOTS OF PUBLIC , cheap transportion like buses, tram, metro , trains. Parking a car in Oslo is almost impossible and very expensive.
@irenestrmnss4496 Жыл бұрын
Dont bring car to Oslo. EXPENSIVE TO PARK AND ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND PARKING. LOTS OF GOOD BUSES, TRAM, METRO AND TRAINS IN OSLO. MUVH BETTER. WALK FROM THE FERRY OR BUS TO THE CENTER

Once arrived in Oslo do u need to get out of the boat and sleep outside in a hotel there or after a mini tour of Oslo do u return to the boat for the night ?
@botalm18783 ай бұрын
The round trip deals are night to night. One day in Oslo resp Copenhagen. Time enough for sight seeing.

Hey I was going to book this ferry but I was wondering what was included in the stated price
@JuliaKimMurphy2 жыл бұрын
Hi, just the overnight ferry charges - no extras such as food or wifi etc

is it allowed to walk around the city of oslo? or just only staying on the ship?

I took the ferry to go from Copenhagen to Oslo as I lived in Oslo at the time. It wasn’t really a cruise to other destinations and it looked like everyone got off at Oslo

Hello, fantastic video and one I’m hoping to try and complete in a few years!! I was just wondering, at 7:07 I can hear a military band performing a traditional Danish march in the background. Was this music you added to the video or was there a band performing on board?
@JuliaKimMurphy3 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thanks for watching! That was the music that was put on by the cruise company - it was on the ship 😁

Hello! Thank you for your comment. The reason I didn’t post any prices is because they change all the time and even when I was searching the tickets prices were all different. It’s very easy to Google the current rates if you wish. Also it’s all different currencies so doesn’t really make sense :)
