That emu is eating Mojo's food. So leaving him with extra food isn't helping him. I'm sure the goats eat it too. I'm guessing if the chickens get cold enough, they will find a warm place. I finally got my feral cat in the house. Going to feel like 6° tomorrow. But it's going to be in the teens tonight. Getting another 3 inches of snow on Friday, got 6 Tuesday. Good to see Rachel. I cannot get over how the southern states are getting hit with the weather. I feel for all of you, as what you are getting is what Minnesota gets usually in October, November and early December. We are not having our typical winter weather, as I only have 3.5" of snow, had no blizzards, received quite a bit of rain in the fall, and no freezing temps. By now we are in the constant downward spiral of below temps with wind chills that are anywhere from 25 to 40 below. I hate it. We all just acclimate to our regions, but below zero temps are not something anyone can get acclimated to. Wonderful job in your care of all the critters. I hope Kora will be willing to stay in the whelping box. She must be getting close.

Cora has gained a lot of weight in the last few days..as well as her teats have filled and dropped..She about ready fam..I would watch her closely now,especially for signs of nesting…Cora may become very clingy ,more nurturing and affectionate as well..Maybe place a camera in the barn and monitor 24/7 if possible,especially in this cold..And when she starts to go into labor I would place and keep her in the whelping pen ,separate from any of the other fur babies..also add a heat lamp if possible…Sending positive energy blessings and prayers ..☯️Blessed be from Pittsburgh PA…💛🖤💛KEEP WARM AND SAFE FAM…

Cold is all I know on that. We did get above 0 today for the first time in a while. I live about 2-3 miles from Arrowhead Stadium. So if you watched us play Miami on Saturday, kick-off was - 4F with a wind chill of -28. Plus we have snow on the ground. Brrr. Ya'll try to stay warm, wrap up good when you have to go out and check on everyone.

It is 17 degrees now and it is supposed to get down to 4 degrees tonight here in southern WV. We got a little over 3" of snow last night and our chickens would not come out of the chicken house this morning. Forecast for tomorrow has a wind chill advisory with a high of 25 degrees so I probably won't let the chickens out, just carry warm water and feed to them several time. I can tell Mojo is dedicated to you, but he loves Rachel. He reminds me of my pyr Ollie, who I had for 10 years before he died of cancer.

Don't look like it will be long til Kora has pups. It is the season, Brandon been having goats and pups, haven't noticed any at Dutch's. Kevin, you and Dutch have to be careful, both of you got your hands hurt on the videos we watched today. You with the relocation of chickens, I felt your pain when you got spurred, hope your hand will be better soon and Dutch getting firewood and the handle came off his wagon and he tried to put it back on and caught his finger, ouch,I remember doing things like that. Hope Rachel was forgiving after you got her with questionable items in the rubber pan. Stay warm and safe, oh, I hope the tech got back with the part for the heat pump. Oh my heart Kora has that Pregnant waddle. as for weather changes enducing, Ours always held out until around their due dates, within a few days either way.. I'm so excited for you guys. Between 10-14 days their little eyes and ears will open and they will start barking and growling . You're in for such a wonderful adventure and these babies couldn't be born to a better place. Prayers for you all through this cold snap. I know y'all are vigilant but try to keep extra spot checks on Kora, just so you can lay eyes on her to make sure she doesn't go off into the woods and have those babies. You may want to start feeding her in the place you want her to have them so she will feel more comfortable. We did that and it made a world of difference. She will want all other animals away from those babies at first, but She will bond more with you guys. It's going to be a precious experience for you all. ** They will be "mobile* in about a week enough to crawl around, you will need to make sure they can't get under the fence or through the holes. One of mine escaped daily through chain link fence holes several times. He was a German Shepard. Those little boogers will go all over, even with their eyes and ears closed. . I bet she has 8-10. Just my thoughts. Be blessed guys.. love and prayers (I apologize for the advice, please know it's not trying to be bossy or tell y'all what to do, I just want to share my knowledge with dear friends. It’s freezing cold here in IOWA. We have. Negative double digit temperatures here in Iowa for the next week. I had to go out on Monday and it was horrible and I will go out on Friday and I’m not looking forward to it because the temperatures will be -10° plus windshield factors of 30 and 40 mph. We have a lot of snow on the ground… 12 inches in one day. You are absolutely right when you said please check on your elderly neighbors and friends even if you don’t go over give them a call and make sure that they’re doing OK and have everything they need.sometimes just hearing a voice is a lot of encouragement. Make sure they’re eating OK. We can’t forget the elderly.

I live in Massachusetts so cold weather is a norm but I’ll tell ya it’s cold and we got snow Tuesday and then it rained on top of it so it’s icy now and I do worry about frozen pipes but still it’s Massachusetts will deal with it. Kora almost seemed to have ballooned in size overnight! I am so excited to see her puppies soon! Good job to Kevin and Rachel to catch the chickens in the chicken tractor and then transfer them over to the barn in the front pasture. You all have done a great job an adding windbreaks for the mini donkeys' shelter and the other barn to help protect the animals from the fierce wind. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area of California, and we are having an "atmospheric river" headed our way with lots of wind and rain, but our temperatures are in the mid 40s to upper 50s range, so not bad at all, especially compared to your area.

My granddaughter has chickens that have not layed for 6 months. They were feeding them pellets from tractor supply. I told her all the stuff ive heard about it and the farmers who switched to grain had laying chickens again. We went and got grain and wormies this week. Even with the -17⁰ weathers guess what they are laying!! As far as im concerned the reports were true. I decided to google who is invested in tractor supply and the biggest is vangard and blackrock.

Burr, it's been cold here in New Mexico. -14 degrees in the morning, and then it warms up to the low 30. We have been snowed in for well over one week due to the snow accumulation on our driveway. The snow was too high and heavy for our yard tractor/snow plow to move. Husband finally was able to clear out enough snow to allow us to go to town tomorrow. Bad new is more snow is forecasted at the end of the week. I'm going to guess Cora is going to have 7 puppies, 5 boys, and 2 girls.

Today is the first time this week that the Temps when above freezing even during the mid day here in east Texas. We have several more days of below freezing. So far, so good with the dog, the hens, and all the goats and new kids.
