Join us at 2pm BST/3pm CEST/9am EDT/9pm HKT on Thursday 13 October to watch the headline auctions of 20th/21st Century Art series, robust and dynamic highlights of the Frieze Week programme.
Kicking off with the 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale, anticipated highlights include Hockney’s Early Morning, Sainte-Maxime, a masterful study of light at auction for the first time in over 30 years, and Bacon’s Painting 1990, a poignant work that stands among the artist’s last great canvases. Following immediately after, A Place with No Name: Works from the Sina Jina Collection is a landmark auction of Robert Devereux’s collection of contemporary art from Africa and its diaspora - the largest single-owner collection of its kind to ever be offered at auction. Ranging across a diversity of media, highlights include chainsawed wood works by El Anatsui, abstractions by Sudanese master Ibrahim El-Salahi, iconic self-portraits by Samuel Fosso, woven textile and collage works by Elias Sime, and extraordinarily imagined portraits by Lynette Yiadom-Boakye.
