I really like the fact that Arturia decided to come out with an analog synth that actually innovates instead of just trying to replicate a synth of the 80s. It still can produce those rich analog tones of the 80s but, at the same time, take them to the next level. This is a future classic synth let's hope that it will be a commercial success as much as it is a technical one.
@mortenrobinson3 жыл бұрын
Arturia brings a lot of new stuff to the table. Sure it has all the mandatory classic analog waveforms, sine, saw, triangle, square/pwm and noise, but it also has those sweet waveshapers that brings an extra dimension in shaping the tone and timbre and allows us to venture a little further beyond those classic analog waveforms. And then off course the morph feature, program 2 patches and discover a world of patches in between by morphing 😍So cool! Should also prove quite handy to just quickly try out many different sounds and perhaps aid in quickly coming up with many new patches. I mean, if you hear something you like when morphing between two patches, then that's an entirely new patch right there 😊

I completely agree. I couldn’t say it better. Mine arrived last week and it’s a masterpiece. It’s got some real French design flair too and, given the history of French electronic music, I think that’s really appropriate.

I am so completely blown away at the brilliance and wisdom of Frédéric and his Arturia design team. Big congrats to Thierry and Sébastien for their contributions. OMG - sounds move me emotionally and Arturia incredibly nails it. I am in love with Arturia and its entire product line - have most of the software, and after watching this vid, I am saving up for the hardware line. Wishing big success in 2023!

Congratulations Artura development team!! Suggestion: Please move MPE compatibility up on the added feature task list. Seaboard & Osmose, users will REALLY want this feature. Morph aftertouch is fantastic, but the MPE controllers like Seaboard have so many more dimensions of sound manipulation. ASM moved on MPE incorporation lightning fast when the MPE suggestion was submitted (hint hint). Great job Arturia, the PolyBrute is truly a unique great sounding instrument :) :)

I agree with everything that James Hall said in his comments regarding MPE. I too am really impressed with PolyBrute. Given your emphasis on expressivity, adding MPE support would truly take it to the next level. I have a Roli seaboard and I have pre-ordered an Osmose, so MPE is now a must for any synth that I get going forward. If you commit to adding MPE in the near future, I will very likely buy a PolyBrute, otherwise I will probably purchase a UDO Super 6, which has less features than PolyBrute...but it does support MPE, which is more important to me than any of PolyBrute’s unique features. Also, I should mention that I would be OK with MPE that is constrained with respect to the possible destinations for the five dimensions of controllability of MPE, Providing that polyphonic pitch bend is fully supported.

This was a brilliant presentation. So glad you did this... and I found it. So many elements of the Polybrute blow my mind. In this presentation... the motion record was a wow moment. Ambient noodling with the morphee to express. The visual Arp/Seq on the matrix. Just an awesome instrument. I do not own... yet... but will. And I am not even a keyboard player. :)

Beautiful, looking forward to hear more of it! Question: can the sequencer record non-quantized input from keys or it has to align? If not, is there any plan for micro-shifting or adding other sort of off-grid variations? It was (a satisfying answer) on lacking of CV in/out to manage costs, though will we see full size, greater price PB Super Freak with cv, audio-in, wavetable, sample etc?

To those like Dara M who note the Korg Prologue (a great hybrid synth btw) it does lack a sequencer unlike the PolyBrute. The Korg does give the JD-XA a run for it's money in build quality no argument there. My only nitpick with the video is I was hoping to see some factory-floor shots of it being assembled.

Fantastic! I 'll wait until your next project sees daylight: UltraBrute! More or less same concept but at least 10 voices, extra octave, and of course a lot of much desired extra's (check all reviews and comments). Pricetag below 10k. You have already solved most of the crazy mathematics! So.... it's just a matter of getting big and create that uncompromised beast. It will become a reference for next 4 decades just as CS-80 did. Why? Because this is a groundbreaking concept! Just a bit too limiting in some ways. PolyBrute will make you great. "UltraBrute" will make you immortal.

It seems to be a beuatiful synth but It would have been better if you had kept all the Matrixbrute specs and enhanced them in a polyphonic unit. Here we get 2 OSC only vs 3 Osc on Mx, limited matrix vs full matrix, fixed panel vs titling panel.
