hello, it seems like many people are having the same problem I've followed everything in the video, but Instagram won't accept the live stream I made sure my OBS was fine, because I tried going live to KZbin, it worked perfectly I've tried changing the encoding, to h264, it still doesn't work does anyone know where the problem is?

I have figured it out... kinda upsetting how simple it was. UNINSTALL (make sure to check delete settings) and install a fresh one from the OBS site. I did this and fixed it in less than 5 minutes. Went live without issue.

There is a big issue with using OBS. You can not accept guests on your instagram feed. But great video. I really appreciated it.

Today I tried few apps to go live on instagram, but in every case I had audio and video problems. I'm a piano player and I want to take piano sound from my DAW so I tried to go live from PC. Basicly I had huuuge video and sound latency. Do you know what can be the cause? I already have streamed to tik tok via tik tok live studio and everything is ok. In case of ig I've tried to use OBS, Restream and Streamlabs and I got the same result everytime, so I came to obvious conclusion the problem is in the browser or instagram itself. I obviously can go live from phone, but this way I will loose Spotify sound quality. Could you please give me a hand with this? 🙂

Can you use any camera for it or is it have to be one with the 9:16 setting as when using iPhone or Mac camera it is still in 16:9

Terribly. Make sure you have a mic setup that can not pick up the audio form your speakers.

Hey, Im facing a weird issue where my stream works great for about 30 mins or so, and then ends by itself I'm doing a live dj set so I have to open up another apps while I stream at the same time but my network is strong and stable. Do you have any idea how to fix this issue?

Had that same issue on Facebook the other day when I started streaming for the first time. For 10-30 min it would just stop randomly in the middle of my set idk why? Maybe because of the music? And that was on my phone!

Hey thanks for the video. I tried everything and am pretty sure I got all the steps correct including video and audio settings. But I still get nothing in the Instagram preview screen. The only thing I can think of is my only video encoder option within OBS is “software (x264).” Not sure if this is the same has “H264” that other commentators have mentioned. I’m able to stream to KZbin/Twitch and other platforms with this setup btw. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Yes in the sense that your OBS needs to have access to the internet in order to reach the Instagram servers.

RTMP Streams are always delayed. That's how they work. The Audio loop probably comes from your OBS picking up your own stream when previewing it with audio on.

This doesn't really have to do anything with the content of this video. - If you need to be able to pause and resume a local recording, you can switch to the advanced output settings.

Not really, you can try to take away any processing work on Instagram's end by getting as close to their recommended settings as possible.

What equipment do you use or recommend?

It depends what your goal is and the produced content is. For smooth operation of OBS a basic entry gaming computer with dedicated graphics card is fine. For your audio an inexpensive USB microphone can be enough or if you move around a lot a wireless lav mic might be the right choice For the camera anything from a inexpensive USB webcam all the way up to the more expensive vertical camera with 20x optical zoom I used can work. You technically could even hook an entire TV mixing setup up to this. It really depends on what you want to do. On my channel there are some Videos about equipment maybe you get an idea of what you want there.

If OBS indicated Stereo in the mixer this must be a Instagram issue. To make sure double-check the audio portion of the OBS settings menue.
