Adler is a great example of how one can be known by one's enemies.

Chaos Theory really does pan out what St.Thomas Aquinas says of chance. If we look at chaotic systems there is huge seemingly random, variance but it is predictable to one who could see them all at once. Or, for us below fortune is by perception at least, for God it is not. For the programmer knows how his program is put together, for he made it himself. So much moreso God to His Creation, which He Himself holds in existence. God has sprung a great trap for the empiricist because he honestly believes in truth. I am not so sure of the pure reductionist, if there is some trap. If not, he will follow his rabbit hole to an increasingly painful slow obliviation by thought but always be sustained by the Divine Love he attempts run so far from, thus an immortal attempting and unable to become nothing. What happens when the reductionist runs out of things to cut and realizes he is still sitting in his empty room, merely imagining he has gone anywhere or done anything? Skepticism is like iron, necessary in small amounts to the heart and lifeblood, but poison in large amounts. Unfortunately, ideas spread among us unlike poison, and like microbes for better or for worse.

9:20 Interesting that Adler followed the movement within Thomism itself from Sacred theology towards a purely philosophical theology as well as an anti-theological philosophy. Indeed, this is problematic. And even moreso, as I've come to see that *some* of the philosophic underpinnings (in Aristotle and Plato) Thomas rests on are irremediably flawed, which both Plato and Aristotle themselves reveal upon (much) more careful reading. It seems then to me that philosophy has now run its course, and revealed itself as the darkness that cannot grasp the light and the wise who stumble at the Cross. 30:00 Plato's problem imo is that he is essentially a dialectician purely; so too Aristotle though he uses a different method. The origin of the modern problem is thus in the very beginning. 48:00 Great point about the transition from light to heat, which is a key transformation -- from natural theology to Faith (and Love) Thanks for the lecture!!
