I’m from SA, and appreciate and love the video’s you put out, it’s incredibly helpful especially from being from SA it’s a daunting experience to go through to immigrate over.

I remember feeling very overwhelmed when we started with the process so it's so nice to hear that the videos are helpful because I always want to put out something that could have helped me before and during the move! Thanks so much for watching!

@@QuirkyLivingSim your video’s are absolutely amazing and well detailed! So my wife and I are so grateful, I’m in Sales and my wife is a MD, but I had seen Sales positions have been added to the Skills list, so hopefully it will work out for us.

A good place to find clothing bargains are the local charity shops

Word of advice, in Scotland, there is no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothing.

Thank you for the video, i am in the process of deciding to move to scotland from SA, its such a huge decision especially since we have comfy lives here, and i will need to relocate first, my wife can only do so after 3 to 4 months as she does not have a job yet, today is my last day of deciding and i need to give my potential employer an answer tomorrow Thanks again

Hey Sim, thanks for the video! Can I ask what you wish you packed on your first time moving there, just hoping I don't forget to pack something other then the basics like things you didn't think of? Thank you Xxx

I really wish you and your husband would both come back to the country, I believe you both would be happier in your country. Although I do understand why some South Africans leave, the ANC is such disaster for the country. I wish you well where you are fellow South African, however there is no place like home. Hope you and your husband find your way back in the future and spend more time together as a couple. Peace be with you.

I love your content, insightful and helpful. I am learning a lot and noting down few pointers. Given the high cost of living crisis, is it possible to save at least R10k ZAR per month? Obviously there are many factors involved in this mainly monthly salary vs expenses however I have noted that salaries in my profession are quite high.

Another question, what factors led you and your husband to choose Scotland vs other areas?
@QuirkyLivingSim Жыл бұрын
So glad to hear the videos are helpful! When are you planning to move over? I would say that it is possible to save 10K if you are not going to go out a lot (restaurants, traveling etc.). Maybe you won't be able to save that much at the start because there will be some extra costs when you are settling in and maybe you also want to explore a bit, but probably after a few months you should be able to do it, especially if your industry has quite high salaries which helps a lot! It was really unexpected to end up in Scotland actually. We were in England for our first year but then due to COVID I lost my job. My husband was then offered an opportunity in Scotland so we decided to give it a go. We love Edinburgh because it's a really beautiful city and it's more affordable than the big cities in England so we get city life without paying London prices! But the weather in England is definitely a lot better! Are you looking to stay in a city or more in the countryside?

@@QuirkyLivingSim awesome. I wouldn't mind moving next year around the same time. I am currently in the process of registering with the licensing board. It's an expensive process however I'm determined. Once I get that done, I'll have my license and I will start applying for jobs. I would prefer countryside due to its intimate experience. I get overwhelmed easily by large cities and many people. I've never traveled outside of SA so it's a huge step.
