I went through a "break" with my boyfriend of (then) 6 years just over a year ago. Have to say it was the best thing we could have done for our relationship as it really gave us time to reflect on what we wanted. A year later we are happily living together and the best/most secure we've been in our relationship. I'm a HUGE advocate for breaks so don't be apprehensive at all!

I'm so glad you mentioned what happened, and I'm happy it turned out the way it did! It's a really great and brave thing to do (mending a broken relationship), because I feel like almost every couple goes through a breakup after around 2 yrs and then it's like - if you decide you still want to get back together, great it means you are willing to dedicate yourselves to each other and really listen to another. If not, it's not mean to be, and it hurts a lot, but yeah, i've seen this many times. I still feel sorry I never had a proper goodbye or a conversation with a person I'd lived with for 2 years. I wish they were willing to talk about it and work it out, so I know i tried every option. Glad to hear you're doing great! Love you guys

@@meii2387 maybe it’s just my observation, but in their latest Q&A video I didn’t like how he tried to analyse and intellectualise why it’s futile for him to apologise/butter Mish up first after an argument despite her desire to want him to take the initiative and do so. I don’t like how he rationalises and is very calculating about his emotions and showing affection. It’s probably out of habit from his job as a lawyer. I also work in Finance at Ernst & Young and have met men who are similar to Ivan. I’m not saying Ivan is a bad person, but Michelle is a very generous and warm girl and I believe she deserves a man who is as giving as her. I think as long as Ivan and Mish are willing to work on this they can continue to have a fruitful relationship.
@stargirl91843 жыл бұрын
@@soemish agreed completely, she deserves better. IMO a relationship that needs so much work to 'mend' shows some hints of incompatibility. I also observed in many ways in those videos Ivan has a very self-centered personality. It's tough to get out of a relationship to move on when she really did put so much effort into it. But well it's Mish's life and I wish her all the best. But just that the longer the time being put into it, the harder to get out of it. So it's a very important decision to make. At the end of the day, the goal is to think what leads to happiness in the long term. would same problems repeat themselves? just remember that it's impossible to change one's personality.

This may be seem random, but in terms of relationships and returning to them, I truly believe there are no rules other than “does this person treat me well and are they willing to grow with me?” The biggest example of this in my life is my partner’s father. He got married to a woman at 21 and they divorced seven years later. He married my partner’s mom and they eventually got divorced 10 years later. After that, he received an email from his previous wife and (to drastically shorten that story) they talked, met up a few times, and realized they should get back together. They’ve been together for the last 10 years. You never know what life will send you or where it will take you.

Where I'm from there's that stigma about mental health and therapy that makes it hard for us to speak up about it. Hopefully thru your videos more people will learn that there's nothing wrong with seeking help and also that nothing has to be wrong with you for you to go to therapy 😊

Hi Michelle, I coincidentally ran over your video that KZbin recommended for me and I was so thankful that I found you. I thought I was the only one who lived alone in US & always being alone, how sad it is , and now by watching your videos, i don’t feel bad & sad anymore 😁 Your videos are very creative and make my days. Thank you 😊

I don’t normally comment on peoples youtube. But after watching your KZbin, it helped me a lot. It’s been very difficult for me because my family has taken COViD super serious and treated it as the initial lockdown. I haven’t seen my bf in almost 2 years and it wasn’t recently until he wanted to break up that I started to notice that I’ve been suppressing my feelings. After 6 years of being together, I finally had to courage to tell my family and it resulted into a shit show. You openly talking about relationship, has given me hope that I can try and mend my relationship if I work on myself, so thank you!!
