Hi eveyone! I am Saiko! welcome to my channnel!
I captured my everyday life in the unfashionable yet slightly retro streets of Osaka, Japan.
My personal highlights include the coin laundry and the delicious mixed soba noodles, hehe.
But this is my unfiltered reality.
Living, at least half the time, involves struggling with negative emotions and tough moments, and I tried to express that honestly as well. It might have turned out a bit dark...
Yeah, my biggest issue is work. I'm kind of disappointed in myself for not doing the fulfilling, enjoyable job I imagined when I was younger.
Even the painful experiences of the past appear embellished when looked back upon, and the pain has faded away. So, I am sure that even this seemingly miserable life in this 20-square-meter rundown apartment will become a funny page to laugh at later on.
That's why I've decided to capture.
Well, I'd be happy if you enjoyed it! Any comments are more than welcome!
Have a wonderful day!

I'm older than you and I also went through a period where I thought I was disappointing my parents. What I want tell you is, is that you're still very young, and you don't need to know what your life's purpose is just yet. Just because you haven't found the 'perfect' job now doesn't mean that you wasted your college degree- you still have it, and you will use it in the future. There'll come a time in your life when you feel like you're ready to find something else and take on more responsibilities. Perhaps people who watch your videos will give you the encouragement you need :) And anyway, you are doing other things that ARE increasing your skills such as your English practice through these videos! And one more thing! Having a romantic partner isn't important in my opinion, but having friends IS! So please don't give up on making and keeping friends~

Thank you for the kind message that leads to learning! Reading this, I realized that I might be rushing to conclusions, as if it's a problem unique to me. including you, everyone is likely taking a long time to work through things. Thank you for making me aware of that. I'll keep pushing forward and doing what I can. And I also want to make meaningful friendships.

i remember when i was 24 yrs old. i was living in the philippines and i don’t have a job and i can’t get a job due to bad habits. i was in and out of jail more than 10 times…i don’t have a house. i chose to live on the streets because i cause too much trouble at home. one day i was so sick and i thought i was gonna die. a pastor decided to take me off the streets and let me live at the church. while living at the church i learned how to play different musical instruments (guitar, drums and keyboard). i was able to make a living playing music at weddings, birthdays and big parties. i was able to travel different countries and play music at different bars and restaurants around the world. fast forward today i now live in america and living the american dream with my family. thanks to god…you’re 24 yrs old and have a job and a house to live. keep believing in yourself. Find your “ikigai”. your time will come. good luck and godbless.😊

Thank you for showing us all a little bit of your life. You're only 24, there's plenty of time to figure out what you want to do with your life, and your parents will always love you even if you make decisions they don't agree with. When it comes to romance, no one can predict the future. You may find someone without trying. A lot of us struggle with loneliness but don't give up! The internet is a strange and wild place, lol. You have all of our support! Ganbare!!

Beyond appearances and smiles, if you look closely, there are actually many people in this world who are struggling. Knowing that you are not alone in this, can be helpful in coping. Did I just stumble across an honest video on KZbin? How refreshing. Life is rough for most of us at one point in our lives or another. Hi, I just want to let you know you are not alone. Growing up in the United States with Asian parents, I understand the pressure that is put on you to succeed and do well. I did the opposite of you, have a good job and a big house to try to make everyone happy, but on the inside sometimes I feel trapped…and never good enough. In the US, they take pride in the individual, where people place themselves before society, growing up asian, I was raised the opposite. Visiting Japan for the first time last year is where for the first time ever I felt like I belonged and could be myself… Japan made me realize that yes while a good job and money is nice to have, life is better spent making experiences and memories.

@@SaikoTakahashi As a 62 year-old man I have had my own share of ups and down. That's life, Saito chan. The important thing is, you keep pressing forward until you discover your own niche. Do not be pressured by society. Just follow your heart and do the things that will truly make you happy, and above all, make you feel like a human being indeed. I've visited Japan, including Osaka, a few times. Loosen up a bit. Don't be so uptight. Things will fall into place. I wish you a wonderful life! Thanks.

i was in japan last week and was staying there for 10 days, i would sum it up to say that it was an amazing experience for me having to travel and meet people along the way. I know japan has a rich history and culture and its people are very considerate as well as reserved. I went there alone, my first train broke down, i struggled talking in japanese and i got lost, but in all of it i found myself really happy and grateful because all the choices ive made in life has brought me to this wonderful country. The people that i have made friends with, when i come back to japan i'll definitely meet them at their prefecture and hopefully be able to talk properly. if anything osaka and kyoto was the best part of my trip. Perhaps one day i might meet Saiko along the way in the future and cheer you up ^^

Hi Saiko. I also went through a period much like the one you're going through right now, at about the same age. My takeaways are that while you can live without a partner, you won't last long without friends. You're right that putting yourself out there opens yourself to hurt, but it's worth it, and very necessary. I befriended a kind person who was much more outgoing than me and that was pretty much how I have a circle of friends in this new city. My other takeaway is that while consuming media as a hobby is all well and good, that alone is not fulfilling in the long run. I'm 31 now, I wish I had spent much less of my twenties cooped up inside playing videogames, and more time exploring my surroundings and trying new things. It's never too late to start though, I've found a lot of fulfillment playing an instrument and visiting new places. Best of luck to you on your journey.

You have quite an interesting life to show, and you get better with telling your story, your channel will grow and you will tell more stories. Hopefully with that you can feel better about yourself. Thank you for sharing your emotions and that vulnerable side of you. It comes to all of us at a certain moment in life, and sadly some people take it throughout their lives. I can only imagine the pressure of Japan society, but the good thing is that ''this too shall pass''- No matter what, nothing will last forever, so after you feeling down and sad, there's only how happy you can be. Don't forget that :) Having said that, looking forward to my trip to Japan, and Osaka! I love when you show the streets, I love the urbanism, the buildings and the roads. If you could, can I ask for some recommendations of restaurants or anything worth visiting that people normally don't go to? Keep making amazing videos!

I too went through a season of my life where I felt very lonely. Even though I was constantly surrounded by people, it felt like there was no one that truly cared about me. It took a while to realize that God was trying to show himself to me in a way that I had never experienced before. I grew up in a Christian home, so I thought I knew all there was to know about God, but it turns out that there is so much more to him that I thought. He is my best friend, my father, my savior, and my redeemer. Once I realized this, I began to develop a true relationship with him and he even put other people in my life who I know care about me as an extra blessing. Because of God, I no longer feel lonely like I did before and he can do the same for you if you let him into your life. I hope my testimony is an encouragement to you.♥

You don't see the confidence you have. It takes bravery to expose your inner self to strangers. As I type this, 5,200 have seen this. I certainly could not do it. I'm old and retired in the USA. It's been a long time since I was your age. It is still a shock when all of a sudden you are told "It's up to you. You have to figure it all out now. On your own". I know in Japan with the stagnant or declining population that everyone wants to live in the cities. If you are a "Loner" does your current location matter? Can your skills be done in a smaller city for someone else. Many times small cities are cheaper to live in. Your money may be able to be stretched further. While there is a saying "Money does not buy happiness", money does make many things easier.

Great video Saiko. I'm 25 and deal with similar struggles like yours with being single and disappointing my parents. It's nice to know others are going through similar things in life too. We all just need to keep going, don't give up, and think positive through our hard days. I look forward to seeing new videos of yours in the future. I love seeing the life and cultures of Japan. It's such a beautiful country. 😊♥

Hi Saiko you aren't alone, you have all 1.6k of us! A lot of people fill the void of loneliness with the wrong types of people/partners I would rather be alone and single then be with the wrong person! You are still young and I am sure you will have many opportunities for genuine friends and a good partner in your lifetime, whenever you feel alone just come read the comment section! haha Peace and love! :)

Thank you for sharing this vlog about your life and being honest about your struggles. I recently moved abroad so I am very far away from my family and friends. From America to Japan! Just my boyfriend and I are living in a new country for the first time. I wonder if the job I am doing here it is worth it too. This video is very honest & real. Let's keep doing our best. It's important to be a person that you want to be, and to be happy with yourself, too. Each day is a new experience and new opportunity.

I enjoyed your video. I don't think you give yourself enough credit as being introspective as you are puts you in a good situation to know how to improve yourself. Life is always going to have ups and downs, personally I've had money and I've been broke and one thing I always regret is not appreciating the moment because there are different types of stress regardless of status and financial situation. For example, if I have more I feel like I have more to lose and less freedom to do what I really want to do. Maintenance of wealth is stressful and it's hard to enjoy it sometimes because you need to do certain things in order to keep it. Having less gives you the more to look forward to and freedom to make different decisions. It's all about how you look at it. I wish you well.

It's not easy. I'm also 24. I've been struggling a lot with my passions, my dreams, my college life as well. I constantly worry that I'm disappointing my parents and not doing enough in my classes to make up for how much they've sacrificed to get me here. I know how it feels to wake up and feel lonely, confused and disappointing. But everyone in my life has always told me to keep moving forward. It's not easy but we can get through this rough patch and make something of ourselves. Take it one day at a time, one step at a time. I believe in you!!! 高橋さん, がんばってください!(I hope this is correct, I'm only a first year Japanese learner! But I will also work hard.)

I really enjoyed watching this one. Good job with the captions and subtitles, these were helpful. Wishing you all the best going through this period - with the job, friends and what not, stay positive and keep grinding, many share the same struggles as you. Consider uploading more frequently as this will drive up your exposure (YT's algorithm). If you don't mind sharing more of your life and doing the extra work (like editing, adding subtitles, taking footage - it's all time consuming) - you'd get some change that would hopefully make some aspects a lil' easier.
