Hey, I'm back from Gambia right this week. I was working in Kachume, not far from Gunjur. Ahh, longing to go back. Really good video reflecting the live in villages. One thing: not all women like to be co- wifes. Sometimes there is trouble. understandable:-)

I hope this isn't common. I could see this as a cause of poverty and permanent servitude for women.

@@IdaBrown - This institution has been around since the days of King Solomon in the Bible, sisters. Fortunately for them, they are not living the materialistic lifestyle we are living in the West, they live a very, very simple life base on sharing and very family-oriented. We in the West we work to death just to pay bills at the end of the month.

I agree with you totally, Mike. And I love the way, at the end of the video, the lady in the white t-shirt comes forward and lifts the little children onto the cart who are too small to climb up themselves, as she knows they will feel they missed out otherwise on the 'hands in the air' experience! So lovely, as you say. A beautiful and informative little film which is such a pleasure to watch.
