Sohan is cool. My grandmother brought back tea from Hong Kong in '69, I fell in love with Chinese tea because of her. There's nothing else like it. Thanks for the podcast Jesse.

Hidden Peak is an experience that everyone should have. I was looking for anything similar in Texas, looking on youtube I found both of you. What a joy that you both talk about what you love...tea, and teach us more. ❤ keep it real tea!

I just got my first subscription box and am enjoying the White Dew White Tea with this episode! Thank you for all the content you have put out and introducing myself and others to what real tea can be. I'm looking forward to sharing cups of tea with friends and trying more teas from your selection. And I'll need to get myself down to West China Tea House! (Texan in close proximity to Austin). Obligatory howdy to you!

This was a fantastic interview and podcast! It could have been longer, half again as long would not be too much! Please make a Part 2 when you get an opportunity. The similarities between the two of you, your stories, your life path. Bring it on! Is this setting, the new West China Teahouse, after the move?

Wow! I never would have thought I would have seen West China Tea as a guest with Jesse! I visited them in Austin last Saturday with my friend for their monthly CommuniTEA event! It was so much fun and the highlight of my month. I got to meet lots of interesting people and as somebody new to pu'er and gongfu cha (thanks to Jesse) I really wanted to go to a shop that specialized in brewing tea gongfu style. It was a great opportunity to learn about (and taste) some amazing tea! I loved the sticky rice shou pu'er while I was there and it's possibly one of my new favorites!

This was really great to watch, but I’m wondering why post an edited version instead of the full podcast? The full conversation (which I found on Spotify) is much more engaging than the chopped up version, and I would have loved to watch it here instead of just listening to it. Either way though, I’m loving this collaboration. I’ve learned a lot from you both, so seeing you together was great.

I just want to say that while it's not Gong Fu Cha or anything like that, your videos convinced me to buy myself some lovely whole leaf Ceylon tea and overall put more care into my tea making process! I live in a country with terrible exchange rate so while buying something from your web store is not an option for now, I definitely love the peaceful content and I'll actually experiment with brewing the tea I have in small intervals like you do!! Thanks and keep up the good stuff!!!

It’s cool and a bit funny too Me how they treat the tea and being a connoisseur of it like me and my friends are with weed. From different types of buds and their pheno types too different types of hash or rosin. Also the bongs isnt jus a bong we collect from different artist from all over. It’s actually super similar in some ways

If you are ever on the East Coast, in Washington DC there is a place called Ching Ching Cha which is a very traditional gongfu cha style tea house. I think its one of only a few on the east coast. Recently, they mopved into a smaller location - great selection and relatively inexpensive.

So happy I stumbled on this channel. Thanks for doing this Jesse. Love all your content and learning so much without having to schlep to Asia. What are your thoughts on David’s Tea. (Might only be in Canada and New York). Generally speaking when you go to a new city, where do you buy your tea? I go to a big retailer (David’s) but think I’ll score better tea in some dive in Chinatown which is great in Toronto.

Jessie got worried about his comedian career in china, when the guest spoke about foreigners invited to be on stage without caring about how good they are 😅
@jessesteahouse11 ай бұрын
This was a huge problem in my career, it is very hard to succeed when people in industry think you got where you are because of your skin, and because they expect so little of you, there are no chances to show you actually do good work since they only write scripts assuming people that look like you are prop pieces

Hey, I gotta ask, what do you use to store all your looseleaf in? EX, I ordered tea and it was in a plastic bag, with a window. I want to put it in something air/light proof. Got any recommendations?

I grew up in the South drinking Southern style iced tea and it will always be my favorite but it’s not the best for warm/hot tea and sometimes on a cold day, it’s nice to enjoy something besides iced tea. I’ve gotten into Chai a lot lately, but do you recommend a Chinese tea for one like myself who has certain tastes* already but want to kind of expand on that? *which is to say, i generally like very strong, very sweet tea.

Now how do I convince you to team up with the dregons treasure in some way? His tea is out of this world (at least according to this tea pleb right here), all loose leaf, and individual bags are hand packed if one wants to try single servings. His store is themed around japanese anime culture (and tea, of course) Disclaimer: i have no affiliation with the dragons treasure aside from being a fan and enjoying tea. If you say I sent you, he'll probably say "who? I dont even know who that is" 😅 but he's a good dude with good tea, would love to see a collab tea product featuring some chinese/japanese tea in y'all's stores (just one random idea)

Since you two lived in China before I’m curious. I don’t mind the idea of spending time in china but I am concerned about censorship to an extent, like either on my laptop, or my phone with media or phone calls to the US, using something like NordVPN to watch KZbin or Google things and stuff like that. I just want to know if I would actually get in trouble for that but with me knowing better I obviously wouldn’t badmouth the government if I was there.
@jessesteahouse11 ай бұрын
Having a VPN is not a bad idea so you can go on KZbin and check your Gmail, but on a day-to-day basis, you have absolutely nothing to worry about in terms of things that will happen to you because of what you say on the Internet as long as you’re not there specifically to cause problems. You’re far more likely to get hit by a car than get arrested in China for saying something innocuous on WeChat

I have a really stupid question which needs a really precise answer. What is the blackest tea in the world? Google says Assam, but its like doing a surgery with a two-handed sword... Thanks in advance.
