Great interview. Dr. Jemison is an inspiration to all women, and especially young girls. Great role model.

Someone asked why there has to be a black history month? Unfortunately, the contributions, culture and history are not fully integrated into the history books as American history. This country was founded on the backs of black slaves who despite the odds against them still contributed in meaningful ways.. it wasn't only MLK or Rosa Parks. There were many others, so I appreciate these segments to highlight who they are to show a more fuller picture of what black people contribute to our country. Thank you MSNBC .

Her achievements are her own. And we’ll deserved. Making this about her skin color is demeaning and racist.

Or it's telling AA youth that they too can accomplish a lot like she did. Useful when Republicans want them to be poorly educated Uncle Ruckuses and Aunt Jemimas chronically praising the white man.

Then have your schools to put people like this person, in your regular history curriculum. There’s a reason this history month exists; if no effort is put towards eliminating the need, then people aren’t doing their job.

Black history month should include a discussion on the national crime stats.
@thiefpotato2759
@thiefpotato2759 Жыл бұрын
Yes! It should also include the stats of acquittal rates for black people too because of how astronomically high. Oh wait, you wouldn't want that, would you? Because you're still pedalling 13/50 point thats been debunked a million times over.

I have a feeling that MSDNC will talk about black history next month as well. And the month after that. And the month after that. What's funny is that even during the months devoted to other races, blacks still get the majority of the spotlight.

It's MSNBC. Obviously NOT a regular viewer of MSNBC or you wouldn't be so ignorant. Every month is devoted to a different group of people. What's so difficult to understand about that concept?

I’m struggling to accept Gen Z. Just to put it right out there, why are they all dressed like they are from the hood. Most of the em never seen the hood. That’s something we went through. Where were all the white kids when the neighborhood sounded like New Year’s Eve every night because there was so much violence. Entire branches of my family tree are missing from the crack cocaine era. I used to be literally called the N word by teachers for dressing how we dressed (hood) in just the early 2000’s, and now it’s a fad. It’s not a fad. That’s something we went through as a people and no one else. I’ve been shot at, robbed, and jumped in my youth just going about my days. I went through that, Gen Z is just remedial. All the sets from way back are dead and so is the culture now. Who is gen z to give anything away?

Then maybe you need to do something about the racist education that avoids ever including these historic figures in…. You know…. History? Or are you the type that just wants to wallow in ignorance and your own personal (comfort?) and state that only whites ever contributed to society because your schools decided to limit coverage?
