It's good bang for buck if you're getting more cheese than you expect, but having the cheese ratio be off means that the pizza will be greasier. If you're playing the $1 slice game just to stuff your face and get value it doesn't really matter, but it makes a difference when you're looking for a balanced bite.

Don't know where you grew up Barr, but I grew up in 1950's/60's Brooklyn. Park Slope, Sunset Park, Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights and Bensonhurst. A subway ride cost 15 cents (for a token) and during the "Pizza Wars" of the 1960's you could get a whole pie for $1.25, a slice cost 15 cents and it was good pizza. The Daily News and the Staten Island ferry were a nickle.

Don't forget, people were earning about $2 an hour in the early 1960's. I worked for the NYC board of education in 1970 and was earning $3 an hour. Very good money in those days.

I miss NY pizza so much out in AZ not to many places sell slices. I grew up on Gino's on Dutch Broadway in Elmont Long Island been going there for over 25 years and every time I go back home Gino's is the first place I go. The best grandma's and Sicilians.

They have $1 pizza in Green Bay, WI, USA, the city where I was born. However, it's a much more reasonable price to get a busted pizza from Hansen's Pizza (if you're an employee) (yes, the whole thing, not just one slice, but the whole busted pie) for $1, because then you can cut your expenses to $1 in pizza for the day moving to Green Bay, rather than waste all your money by living in a very expensive city like NYC, where to get your daily needs you'd have to spend $5-10 if you were to live on just dollar pizza slices alone. Btw, I haven't been to NYC, but I would probably love it, except that, yes, internationally, New York City is a very expensive city. Yet it's the global financial and cultural capital.

My cousin lived near #4 on 6th Ave just below 8th Street and it was always consistent with a soft crust and a good cheese to sauce ratio. I personally don't like pizza loaded with sauce! I recommended this .99 slice.

one of my favorite pizza joints in the city is "the best pizza" but in Chelsea on 23rd st and 7th ave right in front of the train station. I have seen the hell's kitchen one you went to but never tried it there. either way glad i'm not alone in thinking they have some of the best. And there's another youtuber who thinks Joey's is the best so I tried it and I also agree it is subpar lol
