I never met Popcorn, but I have always heard about him. I sure wish I had met him. I love just sitting around and listening to all their stories. I had family that ran moonshine, and my great uncle would tell us some really wild stories. His brother played a fiddle, and he wrote a song about them running shine. My grandmother framed the song, but I couldn't find the song after her death. I just love hearing these old tales.

My daddy was born in banner elk nc, my family was so much like Sutton. Sure miss this older generation, this was the best of times,simple, good decent country folks

Kinda makes me miss my dad telling his life stories...he was a trucker and man the stories he told...i could listen to this guy talk forever to bad he died the way he did b awesome if he was still around to tell more stories....

Idk who the fuck this dude is or how he even popped up on my KZbin feed. But I really enjoy listening to his stories. My favorite one is where he talks about cutting the kid for taking his hat on the bus

Here is a man who spends his whole lifetime preening an image. He lived a life like a hobo and wore the clothes to match. Then he wanted to consort the lifestyle of a moonshiner. A lot of people that know about popcorn Sutton worship him as some kind of rebel. Then popcorn Sutton wants to tell us what life is all about. It doesn't seem this man is pretty wise because look where it got him. They talk about his moonshining but they don't talk about his felon in possession of a firearm. He also could have evaded capture simply by not craving being known as the best moonshiner. That put him right out into the open for the feds. If he would have been low-key and done his moonshine under the radar by selling it to friends instead of everybody in the in the state he probably would never have gotten caught. The feds probably would never have zeroed in on him because it wasn't worth their time. But no popcorn had bigger ideas. In the end he says popcorn says f*ck you. The question is who really cares? That's where he wasted his life.
