Greetings from Europe from the Czech Republic. Our stove is cleaned every time the fire goes out. Best before reheating the stove, every day. We also have a metal tub at the very bottom of the stove. Just trim the cast iron sides of the bin and lift the metal tub and carefully pour the ash into the large bucket. With more frequent cleaning of the stove, there is not so much ash and the stove works better. The wood should be about 12-20% moisture before burning to release as much heat as possible and not to build up too much tar. The wood is stored for 3 years to dry. We have about 3 cubic meters for the winter. But our winter is longer and colder than yours. We have a little chair by the stove and we all want to sit there and look at the fire. It's nice to relax! Enjoy the nice winter days ahead. I love your wooden old houses and architecture.
