Wow...... I thought I was the only one. I to I'm a RN in California Bay Area. and I live in my truck. I do almost the same thing as you. I shower at the hospital and I sleep in the hospital parking lot garage. Thanks for sharing and letting me know that there is others like us. Come to California Bay Area they pay us nurses what we are worth anywhere between $60 to $80 dollars/hr. You are so cool I would love to meet you and share stories.

What a smart and brave young lady you are. Here I am, 71 years young, looking at clean-cut human beings deciding to live in their own vehicles so that they can truly be free and happy. I may be doing the same thing, one of these days. All the best to you and God bless you and keep you safe.

I am a retired nurse. My life was complicated and I will soon be a van dweller and it is not by choice. I'm going to make the most of it and into as much of an adventure as possible. Congratulations on getting your RN. It is the perfect choice of a career for someone Who wants to choose van dwelling. You can work through travel agencies and travel the country and work in as many cities for as long as she wants and that kind of nursing pays very well. So kudos to you. Thank you for the helpful tips. In another month I will be starting my journey I hope.

I am an RN in my mid 50's and contemplating on buying a Toyota hatchback, put my stuff in storage and live nomad for a few years.I lost my house, savings and retirement savings when I got very sick for more than a year . I'm renting now but would rather save the money instead of renting and hopefully be able to retire with savings. So have you started your nomad life? I'm thinking to start by the end of this year.

This is so cool! I live in the SF Bay Area (CA) and it is very expensive. I've lived in a 1 br/1ba condo for nearly 24 years, and I am an engineer, but that's all I can afford. If I were starting out now, I wouldn't be able to afford it at all, unless I did what you're doing. Still, I collected way too much junk that I am now purging - what a waste of money! I think your current lifestyle will keep you from making those mistakes! You've got a good job, so you can really save your money and spend wisely, like on the traveling that you love. Just make sure that you're setting yourself up for retirement - you'll be so glad that you did! I think your grandfather should be ashamed of himself; you are obviously a good person. TFS!

Had to Subscribe. Thanks, the sound was so low I decided to Screen Cast you onto my TV. Was fine then. First off, your poor Grandfather. He should be beaming with pride over what an accomplished, sweet, decent Grandaughter he has. And your story about making up a false roommate and a false apartment is hilarious. Movie material. Hahaha. One suggestion. Get van, work a few months and take off a year. I was touched by your video, your the real deal. I could hear your fear and completely relate to you. Who wouldn't be frightened? If their human, anyway. So, I am 64 years old and I wish to tell you that your very courageous and your no slouch. Your video came out very well because you just let yourself be you. Please God go with you, your in for an amazing, adventurous life and hopefully you'll share with us subscribers as you go. But no pressure. Lol.

I lived in my car for three years. It was great. I had a way more exciting life but at a way more laid back pace. In other words, I did stuff all day, but I had ALL day to do it in. Btw. I lived in a van for six months and its not that much better. Vans have a lot of useless weight and only get 10-15 mpg. They also garner unwanted attention. People are more likely to know you are living in a van. I think the. Eat vehicle would be a truck with a good size bed and a snug top. You could keep all your stuff in the back and disguise that you are living out of your car. Nobody suspects trucks.

I bet the rain guards also cover the fact that your windows are open a little, which is great. Where did you get your battery charger for $20? I have an older mini van. Took out the two middle seats and one rear seat. Planning to get a cot to run the length of the van in back. Left the one seat at the rear for a comfy place to sit back there. Thanks for sharing your ideas

cuddlesanddaisy The rain guards are good for that, too. Just gotta be careful not to place them too high (which I did slightly on the passenger side). I got my charger from Walmart in the electronics dept.

I got a tiny 12v cooler 4the front seat as well as a 12v tea kettle.....a folding toilet behind the seat 4 middle of the night emergencies makes things so much more comfortable. Hope you can upgrade soon.🙋‍♀️

That emergency toilet is a life saver when the gym is closed.
