LOVE the candles idea. What a great way to recycle something that could be seen as ugly into something beautiful!!
@charley2217 жыл бұрын
That is such an amazing idea not only are you helping the environment but I feel as a consumer when I buy something from someone I don't just want to buy something because it's mainstream I want to feel the soul and the places of where you guys visited and I love the idea of this I feel like I'm going to be getting a part of you with me every time I burn the candle and what's so cool about the fact that you're doing this is that when the candles are completely burnt out I can reuse the class for something else so the cycle keeps going on

Two minute videos plus the regular video? Yay. The two minute video is a great idea. What puts your video head and shoulders above so many others is that you are always positive and up beat on screen. You dont whine and moan for a whole video when things go wrong. You may mention it but then it is on with the good side of things. Thanks. Oh yea - Happy Birthday Kaylee

Happy Birthday Kaylee!! I know what you mean by the way some people treat places from the beaches to the mountains. I and friends of mine have always had this rule when camping or anywhere we are, "leave it better than you found it". I love the candle idea and will be ordering some, I promise. But I have to wait , I kinda over indulged Xmas shopping, but next week by this time you will see an order from me. I even have a post it note on my puter to remind me. Cheers to you both and may each day be a beautiful adventure filled with many blessings.

Love love these videos you guys make! Happy birthday by the way! I want to day not all public land is this way, I live in North Idaho close to Canada and I find very little areas that are trash. Maybe we just take better care here. I'm not sure, but the public land up here is beautiful! Few more things I would like to plug in about buying a vehicle to live in (coming from 3 Toyota motorhomes, a ford bronco, a 40ft 1999 RE International, a regular conversion van, and currently a 25ft 7.3 shuttle bus). When I got my first conversion project (40ft bus) The one thing I didn't consider being a shorter person was overall ceiling height. A lot of people I talk to overlook it. It's important to take the factory height then subtract the amount of space you plan to take with insulation, floors, and ceiling. This was a huge game changer with my bus only having a 6ft 1in overall height. After insulation and flooring it brought it to just over my head which made me feel crammed. Another thing to think about is if you are buying a bus, van, any sort, if it came from a dealer or right from the company, see if you can get service records. This was really helpful with the resale of my 40ft because I went through the records finding the engine had been completely replaced with a new one and the trans was rebuilt with only 70k on it. Very useful info can come out of just getting service records. (Mostly For school busses) I worked as a Diesel Technician for my local school district for a little bit and I seen how they truly get treated (hints gaining service records). A lot of these busses will go through most of its life with a lot of stop and go. So finding a trip bus (for sports evens n such) can give the change of having a more reliable bus for longer miles. Countless times I seen a bus fail and would need to be traded in for a new one the following year because of lead foot drivers. Also, a lot of full size diesel school busses don't use a larger diesel engine that can handle 500 plus thousand miles. There are a few which are notorious for great reliability, but most of them just can't handle 30,000lbs 5 days a week for 15-20 years. It wears things out to the point a lot of busses only had 200k by the time they were done. Those are just some of my personal finds working on them for a living. Moving to the van. Don't be afraid of a van that's cheap. I got my dodge B250 for $900 and put 12k on it just this summer in road trips and it's still very capable. Not every case is like this, but you can truly spend less on the vehicle and that savings can go for a much more memorable adventure! I'll cut it off there. There's a ton of things to look into when getting a vehicle to live in. Just thought I'd share a few more for viewers! Keep up the good work!

Be careful melting the wax, do it outside, it can burst into flames like a grease fire. My uncle burnt down part of his house making sand candles not far from where you started this video years ago back in the 70s. He had been making sand candles for a couple of years before the fire.

Just received 2 of your candles today. We bought them for a present for a family member as a Christmas gift. I am sure she is going to love the smell of them. They smell terrific. We were most excited about the story of where they came from being included with the candles. Unfortunately it was not. There was a nice note saying Merry Christmas. It was the story of who made them and where they came from that we wanted to share.

Love the candles idea. Will it be enough income to pay the bills? I see so many "van life" videos where they say "Oh yeah, I'm an seo web brand coder marketing analyst blah blah and I make about $4,000 a month..." I (with a pre-law degree, so essentially useless) want to see folks making it without all the high tech employment. I'm thinking of a small toy hauler trailer, so the back end can be used as a shop - silk screen, jewelry making, etc. Oh, and another down side to big/long vehicles - Independence Pass, Colorado. PS, there's a pretty cool farmer's market in Aspen in the summer...
