Living in Alpharetta GA - TOP Pros & Cons - Could You Live Here? - Metro Atlanta Suburbs

I moved to Alpharetta from LA CA in 1993 (30 years ago) when homes here were dirt-cheap. In 1993 our neighborhood consisted of lower-to-average quality homes. Because we are within walking distance of downtown Alpharetta, and Mayor David Belle Isle at the time turned the place into a tech and destination city, people with money to burn troll our neighborhood for property purchasing opportunities. Developers and people who want to live here pay a lot of money for older homes, tear them down and build mini-mansions. Now I have a lot of relatively rich people as neighbors. Not Beverly Hills-rich, Bel Air, or Malibu-California rich, but people who don't mind spending 2.4 to 4 million dollars for a home. We feel we got a great bargain back in 1993 when we moved here. I like it SO much better here than LA CA. Really a beautiful place with green, tall trees, and a reasonably safe environment. There's Lake Lanier and Helen GA which are such relaxing getaways. The best years of my life have been lived in Alpharetta, GA.

Enjoyed the video, Raymond. You're generally on-point about everything. Here are a few thoughts I have after watching your video. I've lived in Alpharetta for over 20 years. 1. At about 11:07 in your video, you could have taken a right turn, left at the light, and found an entire downtown area you missed. And the area comes alive at night...especially on weekends. 2. Besides the Braves, all Atlanta sports teams play in downtown Atlanta. And there is still a lot of live entertainment in Atlanta. So, there continue to be reasons to go to downtown Atlanta. 3. Alpharetta has a high education level. It's not home to your typical Southerner. The area is politically moderate and has moved to the left in recent years. 4. I have worked in downtown Atlanta for many years. Mass transportation extends to North Fulton and Alpharetta. It is convenient to jump on mass transit and go directly to Atlanta and onto the airport. I drive less than 4 miles to the park and ride, jump on a bus to the northernmost MARTA train stop, and go south toward Atlanta.

My first experience in Alpharetta at the Avalon was a Tesla worker getting very excited over my toddler touching a button in their display Model 3 then proceeding to say nothing while a group of ligh'yt'er complexion kids horseplayed all over it. Then watching a teen girl look one of my older daughters up and down in disgust as she walked by as we strolled around. She was lucky my wife and teen daughters didn't see her or they all would have come to an understanding in that moment. So I'm undecided on my feelings about Alpharetta, but so far I'm unimpressed.

Just a couple of corrections. UPS headquarters is in Sandy Springs. The Atlanta Airport is not in the city of Atlanta, it is in Clayton County. You are definitely right traffic though.

Anderra Thanks for watching but your corrections are wrong. The Atlanta Airport is in the annexed portion of the City of Atlanta to give the Atlanta City Council control and oversight of the airport but you are right that it's located in Clayton County. Next correction, I never said the UPS headquartes where in Alpharetta I said they have a corporate office in Alpharetta which they do.

I commissioned the HVAC automation abd control system for a new construction office tower in Alpharetta some years ago and have done other commercial HVAC work there as well. It's a nice area due to its socio-economics.
