Would love to purchase, but I don't 'on-line'. Was so bummed when I discovered there was no way to purchase it the 'old-school' way! It is a great deal though! Love your videos; your charm, banter & well-guided tours, along with Charlotte's cooking & your escapades with the dogs🦮. Especially the reallly scenic villages I never got to see! Even in this, parts of Cannes I didn't see. They can be taped up, glued together, whatever, as long as they still get the job done. Items become like old friends after a while. My 2008 Mondeo with 173,000 miles on the clock is my favourite 😅

I’ve had my 2 favourite kitchen knives for ever. A serrated one for bread and frozen stuff and a heavy straight one for everything else. Years ago I also got a motorised sharpener for when they slightly lose their edge. Cheaper and greener than ditching and replacing.the batteries in the sharpener last for ages too.

Seeing Charlotte walking ahead of you I couldn't help but think of Ame! In my opinion, if you want a good knife, get a Huusk, a little spendy, but worth the money. Thx for showing me Cannes, I have seen a small sample of it from Ame's video back in 2022. How did you rate it compared to other French cities? Looks like they have alot of wealthy people there. I like how Lille seems like she wants to do some presenting on future vids and had to be introduced at the start 🤣 Well presented Rob for the Rosetta stone! You are a natural presenter. Take care of yourselves and see you next week, enjoy the slightly less intense summer there or wherever you have head to next. Michael PS I am interested to see how many comments come in about the knife! 😉 I vote to get another knife alongside it for the tougher materials, but still keep loyalty with the current homely (familiar) knife until its unusable for sentimental reasons and as Charlotte said, it adds a different touch/quality to the recipe, which a new knife would not do 😃

Charlotte, keep the old knife that adds "rustic charm" and get a sharp bread knife that cuts through bread like its butter. I recently have and I am so glad I did. I held out as long as I could also. It is such a delight to cut through bread with it that it is my dedicated bread knife, for bread only.

I had a favourite Kitchen devils small, serrated knife that I ‘acquired’ from a rented house about fifteen years ago. I’ve finally been parted from it but it worked for everything including bread! I kind of feel better about it now😃 x

I'm excited about that rosetta stone idea. Delicious food and nice make over. Fancy shmancy. The idea of you guys going into some kind of boat life after vanlife would be a huge adventure one should plan out very carefully...having the latest equipment in bad weather detection with evasive options always available etc. Nothing scares the shit out of me more than being stranded somewhere in some large body of water...but the idea, the adventure...I like it. Is it Marseille that has high crime rates? I get Cannes and Marseille muddled up as I don't like big cities so generally avoid them. I prefer Fréjus / Saint Rafael, Le Lavandou. Places like that. Just feel they would be more provincial and more easy going.
