My thoughts on vanlife in the uk…
We started out vanlife journey 5 weeks ago now, and have loved every single second !
Vanlife in the uk isn’t easy, it’s easy to get lost within the fantasy of beautiful views and making memories in your van but the reality of living in a van in the uk is abit different.
It’s well worth it in my opinion and even with the inconveniences I’ve mentioned I would still take this over being bogged down with house bills anyway !

Try SPOTLESS WATER to source your water. Plenty of sites around England (biggish towns). Usually plenty of bins on main road laybys. Or head to the Scottish Highlands - literally, everything you need is within touching distance.

I think the problem is that there are now too many vans seeking the same lifestyle. A lot of places on park4night are private property, this causes conflict. Wild camping in a vehicle is against the law in the UK.

From what I've been told about lack of bins, it comes down to money (classic), places don't want to pay to get rid/recycle other peoples waste.

We don't travel full time, but have noticed it getting increasingly difficult to find park ups over the 12 years since we completed our first self build. We tend to use a mix of stopovers. Generally we look for free park ups, but every four days,or so, we will stop on a cheap site to take on water and empty the loo. We also use pub stopovers and have also found that temporary holiday sites with the camping and caravanning club to be a good low cost option.

We are lucky enough to be able to earn money through instagram and TikTok, Ella works remotely part time aswell but hopefully next year it will support us both !
