Couple of adds: for dogs in winter, you'll need dog boots because the salt burns their paws (and they'll most likely need a jacket). You def need a good heavy jacket (and a medium for temps above 40)--plenty of options around $300. Wool socks and make sure your boots are waterproof.

Jewel is NOT the cheapest…. I would say it depends on where you live…. Aldi is a good place. Food 4 Less. Cermak Produce. Pete’s Fresh Market. It’s so weird because as soon as I moved to the north side Jewel was all I could walk to and it is EXPENSIVE compared to groceries on the south side.

i just got back from a day trip and went to enoteca roma. i had an out of body experience with the ravioli de pera. like when i say i have never had something so heavenly… so freaking good. probably a good thing i don’t live there so i can savor it more.

Congrats on 25k! I started watching your videos last year because I was thinking of moving out and was interested in other areas on Chicago. Granted, I didn't move out, but I still watch your videos because of your amazing personality and I love seeing other apartments in different neighborhoods in Chicago! Keep up the great work!

Good video! When I want to explore outside of downtown, one neighborhood I enjoyed walking around was Ukrainian Village. The museums were interesting and then walk all over the West Town after.

Groceries in Chicago are available from Aldi’s which is less expensive than most other grocery stores. It’s owned or previously owned by tge same corporation that owns Trader Joe’s

Can you make a video on some apartments that are not so brand new/"luxury"/recently remodeled? I noticed when visiting my friend in new east side that her high rise is significant cheaper and muuuuuuch bigger.

We are about 50 miles west of St. Louis and want to do a Senior trip to Chicago. We are driving there since it’s not that far. Where would you recommend to stay and what to do?

I like your videos. I come here for the apartment tours but I kinda feel like your videos should be renamed sometimes. Maybe the majority of your audience is only looking to move in these northern neighborhoods but your takes on Chicago as a whole don't speak to every part. The biggest things I notices are the grocery stores you listed and the comment that streets are salted in the winter. I was born and raised in Chicago. I'm from the south side and there are cheaper stores than Jewels and the city does not shovel and salt our sidewalks. I guess this is more so speaking to a problem bigger than you, but the City of Chicago does not care about the lower income parts of the city. South Loop and Chinatown are not the ends of Chicago. Neighborhood farther south have messed up streets, and we have to be outside when a blizzard hits to shovel the sidewalks on our own. The city comes to plow the streets but they just push the snow on to our cars that we then have to shovel out. I'm not really addressing you now, Caira. Just making an observation on the differences in how lower income parts of the city are treated. I guess renaming your videos isn't really necessary. Just thought you should know that not all of Chicago has the same experiences as the ones you describe. But then again, your audience is probably not looking to move to the south side.

Yes yes you’re totally right though!! I can only speak on my experience in chicago and my experience is living right downtown. I try to include downtown in as many titles as I can but I only get so many characters 😅😅
