Just wanted to say that you guys are my favorite channel on KZbin, I’ve dreamed of living in Montana since road tripping across the state in 2015. I appreciate both Angie and Will’s warmth and local expertise. I just enjoy hearing your stories! If I’m ever lucky enough to move here I will certainly enlist your help. Thank you from NJ for the great content!

Spent time there in 1984 working on a seismic crew all the way to the Canadian Border up the "Trapline". Loved it then and miss it now. Eagle migration in the Fall to the outlet of Lake MacDonald was fantastic back then. Hardly anyone knew about it except for the locals. Driving or walking across Hungry Horse Damn was an experience in itself.

Your opening scene with the Red Bridge in the background. Awesome place. Lived in CF's for a few years. Made lots of cool friends. The Flathead River was only 3 blocks from home. Worked at B&B, now Smith's. Lots of wonderful neighbors worked there. Love to visit, and see old friends. Thanks for the travels down memory lane.

All the locust from the cities fled and everywhere I’ve ever wanted to live, is out of range right now…. Hopefully they sit through their first winter and run for the cities.

Some of them have already put the houses they bought this summer up for sale. We saw one already pack up their UHaul ystrdy and took off! We’re so sick of them and their idiotic passive-aggressive driving.

I grew up around there. If my family wanted to go camping or snowmobile riding all we had to is go to Columbia falls practically my back yard. People from different cities and counties from all over come here, traveling for miles and it is well worth it. My other favorite place is Ronan Montana

So far I'm torn between Columbia Falls and Butte, Montana for my dream places to live. God, I pray to live in Montana... one of these years.

Howdy - There is a road north out of Columbia Falls that I used to take with great anticipation. It began in Columbia Falls and ended in a place locally called “North Fork.” It is a beautiful drive in itself where Elk, Mule Deer, Black Bear and a very occasional Mountain Lion can be seen. As I recall, there were two East - West roads off of the that road that went up through mountain passes that were even more beautiful. Each year there seemed to be competition to see who had the bragging rights for having been first to make it through the snow packed passes. I once encountered a fisherman in one of the passes who told me that he had to seek refuge in a porta pottie during a lightning storm. The difference was that that storm included “Thunder Snow” due to the pass altitude!

It is gray all winter. Very cold. In 1997 you could not find a moving truck in the whole valley. Snow plowing is expensive.

Be good if you are retired , buy a bunch of fire wood, good whiskey and stay home all winter. But when you old , even if you are a recluse , you need to go to doctor appointments and that’s no fun in the freezing cold. I don’t see any medical centers ?

Columbia Falls has a couple of the best thrift shops in the area. Small but always something interesting. I wouldn't want to live in town because of the mill and railroad constantly in and out. Noisy! We live a ways south of Columbia Falls and like it here.

@Go4Corvette3 жыл бұрын
Nice video but feel sorry for anyone who paid those high prices over the last year. The next 2008 is on its way and you could save up to 50% off homes land and more so save your cash and everything will be on sale. I have lived long enough to see this happen two times and now is the wrong time to buy. Good luck and take care.

I would typically agree, but with the amount of money being put into the economy by the fed, I’m afraid prices won’t come close to crashing 50%. Inflation is on the rise and it doesn’t look like interest rates will go above 10% or more to curb inflation any time soon. You’re going to be waiting along time if you think you can buy a home that’s 600k for 300k anytime soon. Not disagreeing with you totally, but we have never had this much money pumped into the economy by the fed ever in history. Prices didn’t even drop 50% last March when there was a massive shutdown. I do agree it’s not the best time to buy, but there is always a deal in any market.
@MG-fn9xw3 жыл бұрын
Also, banks/brokers/mortgage companies are WAY more strict about lending than in 2008. I buy real estate for a living, 2008 was about banks loaning to unqualified ppl, now you have to jump through a million hoops to get a loan. Not even close to the same, just my opinion. Don’t hold your breath on a 50% crash in the next decade or so. Not enough houses in the country for the amount of ppl here, which means prices won’t fall as much as many think. We need more construction to be able to get prices back to normal.

It would be nice if someone bought a large acerage of land and set up a tiny house park for retired people. Those homes are to big and way over my budget.
