Hi Kim, I am so sorry that you and your mom have been through so much. I am in the health care industry taking care of Alzheimer's patients so I totally understand what you and your mom have gone through. I think your mom must a been a samurai in her past life, stubborn, fierce and has plenty of life in front of her. You my friend are stronger than you know and probably live to 110, lol. Living in a place that has good health care is always a blessing and I am sure that she will make a speedy recovery. All my love and friendship. xo

Thank you, Joanie. You were my inspiration and role model. I'm definitely not the best nor the most ideal daughter, but I'm blessed and grateful that I could be here for my Mom when she needs me the most.

Kim please don’t beat yourself up. This would have happened no matter where you live, no matter what you did. It is incredibly common to break bones when people become elderly. Sounds like your mom is getting great care. Sending you a huge hug. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I know how hard this is. I love how you are using this as an opportunity to teach. You are such a beautiful person. Always sharing and giving.

Thank you, Judy! I needed to hear that! *hugs* My mom and I would always talk about having to be more careful so that we don't fall and break something, but no matter how careful someone is, it can indeed happen unexpectedly. You have been so compassionate to me over the years so I know I can get through this and keep a positive outlook as my Mom recovers. Thank you so much!

Thank you, Kim. Such great advice. My mother has finally come to live with me. The paperwork almost done. Thank you all your past advice. I hope everything is well with your mum as well after the hospital. As we both know she is in good hands here. Sending ❤

Very interesting and yes even living in Australia, you need to think about these things, My parents now in there 70's returned to NZ just before Covid, my dad said he wanted to go home and live out the years there we are from rural area, already he's had couple of emergencies and ambuiance took 45mins so scary for us as me and siblings still live here. They have already expressed to us similar clauses, which I think is result of my grandpa who was lively person and parkinson changed him completely I think it was hard for my dad to see that it went on for 5 years. Happy to hear your mum is doing better Kim and really great topic to think about for those of us living outside of our home countries.

Thank you, Hugo! Oh, I didn't know your grandpa had Parkinson's. My dad did as well. Living apart from our family members is so tough during times of medical emergencies and I think it's something we don't often like to think about, but we have to be prepared for. I feel so blessed that we have each other to share similar stories. We can keep encouraging and supporting others when we go through these challenging moments!
