Just a tip on young Ruby...please make sure she gets a nutritional diet and avoid too many treats. I learned my lesson the hard way when my dogs skin broke out in awful ulcers. Some dog treats come from China and there are toxic ingredients that harm our dogs. Please get her not to rely on treats to occupy her time. Fresh apples, carrots, green beans, pumpkin are very good and dogs will eat them if you start young. I love that you have her. She will love and keep you safe. Be sure to give her lots of excersize because she will grow larger and, arthritis will get her joints. Thank you for letting me offer you this advice. I have owned 12 dogs and, they need to start young to develop healthy eating habits. Heather Ontario 🇨🇦

@@aprilscarl5010search for “folding camp stove windscreen” It can also be used to contain any splatters. As far as the oven, I position my rack in the middle to keep things from burning. Also, I like to bake between 325 to 350, regulating the flame as needed. Breads 375 to 400. Loving your videos. 😍

Hello from the Great Southern Land. I grew up on a remote sheep station, ( ranch, ) and seemed to be always hanging around in the kitchen whenever my mother was baking bread. Like most boys from the bush, I quickly learned enough to make a meal and feed myself, but baking bread was my real passion. I've done it all from old style Aussie damper cooked in the hot coals of a camp fire to Irish soda bread. I've often wondered if the attraction to making bread comes from the sheer stubbornness of someone, ( like me! ) who tried making bread and failed numerous times, but was just too mule-headed to give up! Then when you finally turn out a good batch of bread, you sit there and wonder what all the drama was about!

I bought one of those ovens just for kicks while camping, and what I did to improve upon it was, I bought two fire bricks to go in the bottom of it to even the heat out better, and bought some fire blanket, used for welding, cut it out and wrapped the oven in it. It kinda insulates it to cut down on burning yourself, plus, you save fuel by it heating up faster.

Even though I am vegan and chinook salmon is a huge no no even for carnivores, because the Southern resident killer whales are starving and chinook are their main food...so really don't eat that particular salmon...all those qualifiers! I really enjoyed your video. The chowder and gluten free bread look delicious and the oven worked! Yummy! I am excited too because I have one of those ovens but haven't tried it yet. Apparently one secret with the oven is to get a pizza stone and put it in the bottom. This evens out and retains the heat so you don't get that burnt side. I learned that from Dome life channel. They lived in tents for at least a couple of years. Now in a truck camper. Really love the way you have decorated too. Very homey and love the wood, white and greenery.

Sometimes I use a tiny can of evaporated milk if I'm out of milk or cream. Sometimes even powdered creamer that dissolves in the hot water when I need milk for any recipe.

I still use baking soda when I wash the bread board or anything you used the fish with. It works to dilute the smell.

That chowder and bread looks so good!! We're getting ready to possibly be living in our car. We have 7 cats and 1 dog. We've had the cats for at least 3 years and the dog only since August. He just turned 1 year old in November. I have made calls and talked to people and have learned some much needed information. We have a Colman camp stove, camping cookware, plenty of blankets, food and water. We know where to get rid of grey water and the potable toilet waste. I will continue to watch you and Ruby. I have one of those ovens too and it's amazing! I always buy those orange roles from the can and bake them when I go camping. There is just something special about fresh baked treats out in nature. (My oven cooks in like half the time of a regular oven. Maybe it's because it's a small space?). Have fun! I just found your channel and love watching you and Ruby on this adventure. Excited about getting a coleman oven myself. Remodeling n will have no grid electric. I am working on getting solar slowly. First a generator. N some batteries. Using a single burner stove or my rocket stove.water similar to urs except in a room. It works. N i am there to work on the place. Less money i spend more that i can repair.
