When taking cuttings....remove MOST of the leaves...they won't lose most of there moisture and put more into their root production

One of my dogs got heat stroke. He was a shorthaired dog like yours. It’s not a pretty picture and I learned a lot about how long dogs can stay out in the heat because they can only cool themselves down so please be careful with your pot. I was thinking that’s an awfully long hike for him down and back so glad to see you found some water for him to cool off in

If you cut fruit trees with sterile scissors when pruning, you increase the possibility of infection and disease and the possibility of the seedling taking hold. I didn't know this when I first started, but I saw the difference. I hope it will be useful for you too.

I would have drenched the soil before putting in the tree cuttings and drench them straight after and removed more leaves before planting but I hope it works out for yous!!

Would love to live round there eventually. It is still a dream that will become reality. As a fine art painter, that scenery is magical and captures my imagination. That is a fair walk for your post!. Lol. Yes, strip half the leaves off too so the plant puts its energy into establishing roots. Love your positive energy though despite your land being used for hunting, with all those dogs around I'd worry about keeping ducks and chickens. I know you will overcome this hurdle because you both never give in. Good luck.

I’ve seen other KZbin vloggers in Portugal have problems with hunting dogs and chickens. Apparently the hunters don’t put collars on the dogs so you cannot prove who they belong to. It would be awful for Bailey to come up against a pack of them bless her.

Keep meaning to tell you if you cut or prune any fig trees be very careful with the sap. If you get it on bare flesh and you go in the sun you will get badly burned ! Don't ask me how I know.

Reduce the size of your cuttings they are a bit to tall. You can cut the leaves in half and also remove half of them.

In Portugal, saddly, hunters don't appear to have much respect for private properties, especially the dogs that are let loose and can't read. If I had land in Portugal, I would fence and wall everything, especially near the house and where you grow food. For Bailey's sake, if she was to encounter a pack of hunting dogs. 🤔😢🌻🙏🐈

Gotta keep little bailey safe from hunting dogs, I don't like hunting with dogs, so I'd be furious if they came running riot on my property, beautiful place to live though, I'd die on the first hill lol. Love pickled gherkins too! I can taste them already ❤
