Join us for a quick tour around Ala Moana Mall, and more importantly, inside the priciest building in the state of Hawaii, Park Lane. In this video we check out two different condos ranging from 3.6 to 11 million dollars. The Ala Moana Mall is the largest outdoor shopping mall in the world with over 350 shops and two million square feet of retail space. We might need to go back for round two because after looking at this video we barely got to scratch the surface, and this mall has some gems that are definitely worth circling back to. Cheapest unit is 1.978 mil. It's a 855 sq ft one bedroom. Super pricey for sure. It smokes the second priciest building, Waiea, in cost per sq foot. Park Lane is at $3,148 per sq foot for past 500 days of sales, while the second priciest, Waiea (Ward Village), is at $1,807.

The Exact reason why we have a housing crisis on Oahu ......No Local people can afford those places.... they are mainly empty because its a place for foreginers to park their money

Yes. Super expensive. I am seeing some listings claiming a 20% owner occupancy rate in the building, and some as high as 85%. Obviously both can't be right, so will see if I can find something more definitive.

I remember when all that space was coral waste from dredging the channel into Honolulu harbor. Now it’s waste space for rich investors. Yuk.

Not mentioned is that Park Lane is directly on a very busy 6-lane boulevard with abundant traffic and the usual quota of emergency vehicles with lights, sirens and loud horns.

Hell yea. Ala Moana Park is my go to spot to take the family for a beach day. It has everything you could ask for. Even a L&L for a quick burger if hungry. Love it

Monthly association fees can range between $6-10k depending on the unit. That is on top of your mortgage.

The grand penthouse that recently sold for $27,500,000 has monthly fees of $10,248. Big numbers for sure.

So the parking lot view would be the building in the back, which is One Ala Moana. If you are in a lower floor then it's a pretty prevalent part of the view, but luckily the mall is only four stories tall, so anything you see over that would be ala moana beach park and then ocean as far as the eye can see. The first unit in this video is looking over Piikoi St, which is no better than a parking lot. Probably worse due to soot coming up from the traffic below.
