Not needing a car is high on my list of attractive qualities for a place. I rarely hear anyone agree with me on that. Appreciate your perspective on various places.
@prime8nate3 жыл бұрын
I was just there and I certainly don't believe you need a car to live there. A mountain bike with a rack and panniers works great if you're used to riding bikes and investing in decent bikes. You could get an e bike if you really think the hills are too much. Some people rode ATVS or motorcycles around. The one thing is that it can be a very dusty experience because not much is paved in TS....although at the rate it's growing that may be changing.

I drove down the peninsula from Colorado back in the late 90’s….camped on the beach at Cerritos for a month so Todos Santos was our go to town for supplies…amazing town! I loved how it was old school shopping like go to the bakery for bread and go to the butcher for meat and go to produce stand…amazing fresh food! I’m sure it’s grown a bit since the 90’s but we were the only 2 people camping at Cerritos for days on end…some people would show up on weekends…I plan on spending winters down there starting within hopefully the next 3-4!years…perfect job on the describing of Todos you did in this video….on point!

Nice video. I would love to visit there again. I love Baja and Mexico. My wife won’t go. When I was younger in 1982 some friends and drove down Baja We visited La Paz, Todos Santos and Cabo. Those places were very different than today. I always wanted to go back to Todos Santos and I did pass through on the bus from Cabo to Ensenada after doing a boat delivery to Cabo and having trouble getting a flight back. Hey I can recommend electric fat tire bikes for transportation. That are amazing. If you ever buy one make sure you buy a mid-drive model they can climb any hills. The fat tire bikes are awesome on sand and dirt and great in the road. Cheers enjoy La Paz.

I found that exploring Baja CA Sur one needs a car. Surprisingly there is limited taxi and colectivos outside the bigger places like in Los Cabos or La Paz. I found this out when I visited Loreto a few years ago. It’s not like down in Southern Mexico where there are lots of taxis, colectivos and buses all over the pace and you don’t need a car.

I haven't owned a car since the 1st of March, 2013. I walked exclusively (1,000' elevation change between where I lived and downtown) for one year in San Miguel de Allende. No Buses. No taxis. Then one year of exclusive walking in the mountains of Los Alamos, New Mexico. Since then, mostly biking and some walking in Newport Beach, California. And a lot of distance swimming. I'd be interested to know the reality of living in Huatulca,, Oaxaca. I did find online what looks like a good gym!

There are a few people on ATVs around, but not that many. Glad you have been enjoying seeing a different side to Todos Santos!

Yeah, the views of the wide streets and glimpses of the views from bicycle riding 8:03 were really great. I only wish they could have been longer and more revealing of the "great outdoors" that can be experienced in Todos Santos neighborhoods. Those desert peaceful trails made by small animals over the many decades are really memorable to me. I know the cinematography aspect might be difficult, but that's the Magdalena biome there near T.S. There are tiny clumps of heath species which capture the floss & dross with seeds blowing in the wind and help establish and nurture desert life. So seemingly ephemeral yet, they're really well established around T.S. Maybe you'll be exposed to amazing biomes elsewhere and be able to show us what's unique and memorable again. Thx2!

@@laura-bronner Just an FYI as a Todos Santos resident, experienced surfers love the waves and swimming with the whales, no worries about them eating people. There are baleen whales here (no teeth), humpbacks and grays. Gray whales come very close to shore, digging in the sand to eat crustaceans and the humpbacks can be seen a bit further out breaching like crazy (in the winter, mainly January and February), it's amazing! But yes, the water is too rough for most people to swim.

Which would be your favourite place to live if you'd have to choose between Todos Santos, Sayulita, San Pancho y Yelapa?
@lydiaskapura77253 жыл бұрын
Sayulita - ugh no. I stayed in San Pancho for 2 months (May, June 2021) and loved it, but am afraid it's on its way to becoming a Sayulita (overly crowded, loud party town with growing crime). I'm currently in San Sebastian del Oeste (magical town in the Sierra Madre mountains), and am trying to figure out where to go next. I may buy/build a tiny home here and make it my home base during the hotter months on the coast, but it's definitely a remote area which most people would not like. I've been to Lake Chapala, Ajijic, San Pancho, Hugera Blanco, Sayulita, San Pancho, Sayulita, and here. Overall I think if you need water in your life I would probably pick San Pancho (San Francisco) .. great surf, good food, good people, good access to most everything you need, and good times. . . but not over-the-top crazy.
