Would definitely love to see three videos a day. As for Hermitcraft, honestly I think people underestimate just how much fun it would be just watch you guys build quietly. Like, when they covered up the Perimeter, I am still so sad that nobody just had a recording going. And I get it, a lot of people said how it was just fun to hang out for a couple hours, placing blocks, not having to worry about performing or anything, just talking and hanging out as friends. But dang it, I wish somebody had just been recording and had the voice mod turned off. I mean, it's like finding out somebody had a chance to watch Leonardo da Vinci paint a ceiling, and decided to take a before and after picture with only two or three in-between. So yeah, I think if stressmonster's ASMR vault runs have taught us anything, it's that people will watch you guys even if it's silent.

I think I agree with the "play sessions" idea for Hermitcraft. Even if there's a lot of, so to say, "dead air" when it comes to vanilla, I imagine most people watching this channel are watching for *you*, being able to just chill and listen to you chat while doing whatever you're doing. For example, I think VH's gameplay is super fun to watch, but I honestly watch these vodskall vids because I just enjoy hearing the discussions you talk about, or hearing your banter with your friends. It's like a little podcast but with a bit of gameplay to focus on as well. Also, as a sidenote, relating to the "better storage in vanilla" discussion: 1.20.3/4 (effectively the same version really) actually allowed decorative pots to hold a single stack of items. This *massively* simplifies item filters for autosorters because now you don't need the extra junk blocks for a hopper filter, because the deco pot is the filter. It's a bit chunkier to set up, but it's definitely a nice addition that helps with autosorters!

I fully agree on the chilling and listening, hearing iskall talk about his thought process is more entertaining than watching the vault itself Th pots are kinda eh, they are a very vanilla feeling solution to make sorters slightly easier, but they're still just as slow and don't make filter systems much smaller in size

On the ores dropping 0 thing: In the long run, when you're running tens of vaults and getting large amounts of ores from each (i.e. when you're high-level) everything evens out to the expected distribution. However, in the short run, with not very many vaults giving small amounts of loot - say if you're a level 10ish player trying desperately to get a few iskallium gems for your first few pogs - you could very well get screwed over by RNG and roll 0 on several; and it wouldn't hurt to have the range be 1-2 instead of 0-3 (or similar for higher fortune levels)

However, you are chilling on your normal video style right now by posting a lot to Vodskall. (10:32)Personally, I find the vault runs very entertaining to watch, either edited or just clipped onto this channel as a ~30 minute video. So if unedited clips on this channel are easier, I don’t think the difference has an impact on the enjoyment of the video. I think the vaults themselves and your personality of conversation with the twitch chat is great (I never have time to join them live and so it’s nice to feel part of that community even if it’s indirect). I think this especially true with finding out more about the behind the scenes conversations, which I usually miss out on due to not watching the streams. The main edited videos are great for the overall concept of hermitcraft vaults as a series, especially seeing other content creators interact together. So, personally, the two video types as a whole works really well. PLEASE KEEP IT UP ❤

@15:55 I think the problem with modded is that people get overwhelmed by the 'mega-ness' of it, I think Etho has a really good approach in his many modded series where he takes it slow and treats it like vanilla, building a build for each machine or mod, rather than a giant mega base i think it's more enjoyable to watch that way too. No idea how modded+vanilla youtubers do it, after playing modded, vanilla seems super dull in comparison, shout out to you guys Also i think vault hunters is really good for episodic content @ 19:48 I agree with this sentiment too. In VH, I pretty much only wanna be in the vaults, realizing this, I just turned on arcade mode and free crystal crafting, and suddenly it made me realize that without huge altar costs, most of the tech mods don't really have a purpose anymore. So it calls into question what the purpose of those mods are at all in a pack like vault hunters. If all the fun is to be had inside the vaults, may as well skip the crystal crafting part. I know there are some who probably enjoy farming for items, but going into vault hunters, I thought farming would /actually/ be required, like, thousands or tens of thousands for items instead of mere hundreds. That idea was sort of appealing, that your overworld base would grow in proportion to your vault level, but with that not really being the case [because crystal items are only in the hundreds rather than thousands], it made me not care for the crafting portion as much. I think the real potential in VH lies in builds. I think the state of objectives and crystals are more or less fine, and weapon and ability variation would really take things to the next level. After that, maybe have a hard think about the purpose of mods in VH, because as it stands, their only real purpose is just to help with altar costs, but if that's not a problem, they're sort of superfluous. I understand trinkets from Botania being removed, but things like the souljourners sash and other items from different mods may actually be worthwhile and a cool alternative to vault trinkets, hard to balance obviously, but its hard to think of what other benefits mods serve other than crystal costs and convenience.

I like the recent trend of uncut or "movie" length episodes a lot of the Minecraft creators are going for. The insightful banter usually lost between edit cuts is usually very entertaining, as are Stress's sudden surprised screams and noises 😂. Vault hunters is a great way for a group of creators to get together and hang out while doing something fun.

Vanilla might not have much content as a single player game, but you wouldn’t have to build or progress anything on your own and just hang out with and assist other hermits, and the videos will be great and likely do very well. It’s a sentiment I see a lot in the community and it’s definitely my feelings as well-we like watching you guys hang out together and having fun more than any other content. I don’t know if the metrics align, I have heard CCs say audience feedback and viewing statistics sometimes don’t line up, but at least it definitely always grabs my attention when it’s a collab-even if nothing gets built Like, what if you just had a small little hut as both your base and your shop, with storage hidden underground, and it’s just like a “need a friend” service hermits can sign up for in exchange for video time. For a comedic affect, go around whenever you’re online and no one has signed up, and “advertise” your business by going up to hermits and doing small, “helpful” griefing pranks (the ones you already do with Stress and Etho sometimes)-like, “I noticed your lawn needed mowing” or “I replaced your diorite with calcite” etc, but the goal is always to just illicit an interaction. Willing to bet this is the most fun for everyone involved including you guys and the audience, but I could be wrong. Point is, no hermit is the world’s best Minecraft player, but you’re still largely successful for a reason. More popular as a whole than plenty of better players. It’s the interactions that sell I think. Just roll camera and hang out with your buddies.

Vanilla is getting autocrafters and storage systems have progressively gotten more compact and easier to put together. Just look at what Etho had to do for an all block storage system back in the day. You can basically replicate that same system in a ridiculously smaller package with shulkers.

Responding to you talking about a Vanilla+ pack, Quark is a really great mod for that. Oddities includes a very vanilla-esque pipe system, plus all the other features the mod adds really do make it feel like a proper vanilla+ mod. Tbh, that + storage drawers, on its own, sounds like it would be pretty fun. *maybe* waystones, *maybe* some QOL stuff like a trading table.

It would be really interesting to see an Official Hermitcraft season with vanilla+ - I'm thinking with Create only. You talk about the lack of storage/automation options in vanilla, and I think Create solves those problems really well. It would give you all so much more time to build farms, games and structures, along with many more options for building all of those things. Also agree with other comments - I'm watching any content you post, it's all very interesting. I appreciate your frank demeanor and willingness to talk about all the different aspects of content creation, modding, developing, hermiting, etc.

Iskall, thank you so much for this content in this time right now!! I probably have the most obscure reason to be watching you play vault hunters as much as I do... But hear me out! I am pregnant and have found out that my brain does entirely different things during pregnancy, specifically when I'm sleeping! I also have recently just started a new job and turning my brain off from work mode has proven difficult. I've been using your content to be sure I'm going to bed with clear thoughts. And when I wake in the middle of the night with my mind racing about work, I can put a video on to change my train of thought and get me sleeping again. I don't mean to tell you that your content is so boring it puts me to sleep! 😂 Not at all!! I started watching vault hunters with no interest but I've actually found this is an amazing mod and so so in depth! I am officially hooked 😊 Specifically I'd like to thank you for putting out so much content in December and January. As you mentioned, many creators take off in this time which is extremely well deserved. But you have really saved me from falling asleep to true-crime podcasts! Which would not be good for my wild pregnancy dreams!!

19:13 @Iskall85 In its current state making ONLY vanilla farms is sort of viable. I’ve made 6 vanilla farms in my current playthrough because most of the production mods and items are (IMO) ridiculously gated. Vanilla Pumpkin, Iron, Cactus, Honey Comb, and Honey bottles all work just fine. The problem child is my Mob farm… this currently results in a couple different non-vanilla mobs spawning, taking up the mob cap and preventing anymore spawns. As far as I can tell these troublesome mobs come from Thermal Expansion.

(In Reference to the topic of Vanilla improvements) I think the trouble for me with adding something like filter-hoppers or other specifically engineered redstone components is that I wouldn't want there to be something that denies people the ingenuity that went into building something like Auto-Shulker Storage, with its complex & intricate designs and careful use of redstone mechanics. While collapsing a simple redstone hopper filter down to one or two blocks isn't the same as that, I wouldn't want it to get to that point of over-simplification. I think the point I'm making is that I want the wonder & mechanical depth of minecraft's redstone mechanics to stay intact, and for having that understanding to maintain its meaning. Crafters are (mostly) OK Because there wasn't anything like them before, so there's nothing being replaced; Nobody enjoys crafting dispensers. If you do, HOW??? The Copper Lamps are fine because they're just simplifying a 4-block circuit down to one block, they aren't necessarily an engineered component, if that makes sense.

been loving this series and made me think of an idea about group vault runs what if there is a seal that players can add to a crystal that made the objective a combined effort kind of like you already do with scav runs. for example all players make a crystal with this seal then you combine all crystals for the team objective crystal. The vault then takes one of the players objectives like scav or elixir required for a single player and multiplies it by the number of crystals combined and now all players work for that one goal.

Mid video 2 cents that probably most people agree on: if you hate editing vault runs and you have enough material for the actual main channel videos, you can totally skip them. At first I didn't really follow the vod channel as the videos were way too long, and though still enjoyable, I'd have to stop mid way and lost continuity. These ones are way better and more fun to watch as a whole than the cuts in the main video. A stressfree iskall is a good iskall!

As someone with repetitive strain injury, I can agree that the visual effect of many chests is great. I'd still need a pickable talent that consolidates all loot of that chest type into the current chest within a reasonable radius (to reduce the amount of required inputs) to play something as hectic as vault hunters. I doubt such acessibility features are high on the list of priorities, so I suppose I'll settle for watching others have fun

dumb ideas that probably won't work: chuck a fox outside vault portals so they can snag everyone's dropped crates :d

I know I'd be interested in watching at least one vault run that had the audio from your developer meeting overlaid onto it. Maybe not more than one for many reasons, but seeing/hearing the process would be interesting to me.

Very interested to see if 1.21 helps with the vanilla limited content. Knowing the hermits tendencies to get every time intensive thing (collecting armor trim etc) done within a week maybe it won’t help lol

Any update on light weight vault hunters? I would love to be able to play the vaults without hundreds of mods. My laptop can't handle it lmao!

Iskall, when transferring items between inventories how to you click so fast? Is it like a macro on your computer or are you just clicking so fast that it looks like your holding down the click button and moving your mouse? Just asking as im curious

It's a mod called mouse tweaks, so he's just holding down the button and moving the cursor😊

In terms of making content for Vault Hunters I really think you have hit on close to the perfect format having videos where you show your overall progression through building out the base and farms etc, and then full Vault runs on this channel. It's sometimes quite jarring to be watching someones videos and you have a vault run cut up and reduced to only seeing like 5 minutes of it where you lose context of the overall tempo of the vault. I definitely like the Vod's cut into these chunks that are less than an hour as well because trying to watch a full 4hr stream vod can be daunting.

Dear Mr Iskall... I know this is a long shot and i am but 1 person ....... BUT please could you add a transmog for a shield that makes it look like 1 of the omega battle axes , Not asking for any other reason other than to be able to run some vaults looking like im Dual wielding axes it would play into my Viking story line :P There is potential for it to be a item if you think its worth it . BUT please a simple Transmog to start with :P pretty please. And thank you very much for Vault Hunters it the part of MC i didnt know i needed . Has reignited my enjoyment again . Thank you SIr
