One more interesting thing about Ekaterinburg and a Sverdlovsk region: a lot of locals speak very fast, even for "western" Russians. That`s because of local dialect, so called "Ural dialect".

Funny hearing the little girl talking about the opera rehearsals! My wife recently sang Turandot over there and had a super time in the city. Great place to work and visit away from the crowds of Moscow. Спасибо!

Самый маленький миллионик! Вокруг леса, озёра, природа! Сел на трамвай- 20 минут, ты на озере Шарташ, там всё- шашлыки, кафе, морожки. Можно на электричке ; оз. Флюс, Балтым, река Чусовая. Красотище!!!

@@natyrusa Трамваи: 8, 13, 15, 23, 32, А ост. Каменные палатки- это три остановки до конечной 40лет ВЛКСМ. Очень красивый лесопарк, сами скалы- Каменные палатки, минут 15- 20 и оз. Шарташ. Или автобус: 25, 36 до конечной ул. Высоцкого, там до озера два шага- минут пять.

Born and raised there until I was 10 years old. Then moved to the USA. All the memories I have from there are good ones.

The only bad thing about this video - the interviewer is so beautiful yet they are HIDING her face, why? It's a great shame. I specifically clicked on this video so I can see her face.

@@brunokubin ohh! Until now it has been good. The winter is a bitch (the last one was) but the summer is great. Very windy though. The city is beautiful (mostly in the center but not only), people is ok or great and a lot of activities. It depends what you like. But for me I have had pretty good time although I haven't had time to explore it well.

Now to sum up, people love easy going life, helping people, many mentioned architecture even kids, you would not hear this on daily western news, like in soviet times usa spread rumors that everyone were starving and sad ... while it wasnt, even happier than americans or britains...

John Connor There are many Chinese working or studying here. Unfortunately not so many locals speak English, but you will be serviced in cafes and restaurants, hotels’ staff also speak English more or less

John Connor I think you can use couch surfing and someone will help you for free, or show you the city. If you need an interpreter for work and you will come on business then try to find him on facebook. There is a group devoted to Yekaterinburg

Here was murdered the Tzar Family in the mill house of Nikolay Nikolayevitsh Ipatyev ( he later died in Prague in 1938 ) . Brezhnev has the house demolished by Yeltsin not to yield any clues .

Косвенно, но связано. Чем больше у города денег, тем большая их часть идет и на развитие культуры. Даже маленькая девочка в конце подчеркнула что платят людям хорошо.

1:13 this kind of makes me worried about learning Russian hahaha, it seems even native Russian speakers like these guys can't really explain in depth about their city. I guess Russian is pretty hard

they are kids, what do you expect? statistical city coverage? they mentioned what they like, including architecture, that no western kid would do... they probably would say best free wifi spots and junk food places.

You are absolutely right! Russian is my first language. And I can say that many people who answered questions in this video were very inarticulate, especially teenagers... It's been a while since I noticed that expressing your thoughts in English is easier than in Russian...at least for me it is) Russian is difficult even for native speakers and we make a lot of mistakes when we speak...But I do believe that Russian is worth mastering! And even people who were born in Russia should work on their speaking skills)) This video proves it)) Reading Russian classical literature aloud is the best way)

Yes, that's one of many reasons why Russians outside of Moscow hate this city. We compare it to "anthill" like this guy in the video, because how populated and international Moscow is, New York of Russia i would say

they aren't sad, this is just so to say a neutral face expression :) Smile in Russian communication is addressed mainly to familiar people :)
