Hi. Great actions. It is not compassion the reason I help animals. Getting to know birds opens the gate to Narure, biology, flying, dinosaurs in a sceintific way full of wonders. I only feel compassion for the people who dont know about these fundamental truths.

when i fed birds. i found out i was feeding mice.. water too until one day a bat showed up, pinged me after landing and flew from the ground to the pizza metal tray of water. it despelled a myth for me that a bat cannot take flight from the ground..but also told me that all these talk to one another

This is the beautiful benefit of seemingly small acts of consideration… we don’t know just how many are assisted down the line beyond our awareness or direct witnessing. And yes, the kindness of the wild ones has them share information about resources and where to find them :-) By the way, it’s only baby bats who can’t take off from the ground. Thanks for all that you do and the ripple effects of Good into the world.

Thank you! I loved this video & I just love to watch & hear the birds! When I didn’t use any hair conditioner, after I cut my hair, I would put my cut hair out in the Spring when birds were making their nests. Sometimes I still do, though I live in the city in an apartment...in the back there are a few trees & the backyards of lovely homes & a nice high spot on which to place my hair. I never thought of placing my cat’s fur there! I will try that! Thank you for the great tips! And hoping all is well with you! ♥️

Love this. I got a tilted bird bath, also I use absolutely no poison, have many tall trees. The doves loves it so much here they literally fall asleep on the soil with their wings outstretched. On hot days I put the sprayer on and tilt it towards the bushes and trees, the little sunbirds and cape white eyes have wonderful showers and they come in their droves. Have a huge weaver colony that come and nest every year in an old tree. Even assisted in safeguarding some of the chicks in dodgy nests and they come every day now and say hi, fly through the house, hop around on the floor. Even wait me in when I come home. Don't really feed them as there is enough natural food. It's like they know it's a safe place. It's wonderful to have a bond with the garden birds, they are too funny as well!

Good ideas. Never thought to give the birds my cat's discarded fur. I bet it would be nice and toasty warm for them. As well as soft too. 😊

I personally disagree with using a birdbath unless the water has a way of constantly being fresh water, and the reason is because many birds share the same water, birds will sometimes use the bathroom in it, or drop something in there that spreads illness to other animals, but if the water is always clean, it's okay! I will keep these bird tips in mind!

I take care of my bird friends in our industrial area. The activity grows as the word gets out. I have had squirrels and bunnies. I have an owl at night. I enjoy them all so much. I have a really neat relationship with 2 Blue Jays, male and female, and with a wee little bird I call Fluffy. These 3 birds come close to and like to be near me.

Hi Anna. If you see this I hope you can help Beatrix the Toucan someday. His current owner rescued her from someone that wasn't taking good care of her. He suspects that Beatrix was captured from the wild and smuggled to the USA (she definitely has unresolved trauma). Search youtube for 'Beatrix the Toucan 1 Year Update After Rescue!' She doesn't trust humans or her owner.

Yesterday I started to put my cat‘s fur outside on my apartment window ledge for the birds! She’s a very fuzzy cat & has to be brushed daily! It will make soft, warm spots for some nests & that makes me so happy, especially since the weather here in New England can be quite unpredictable! Thank you so much for that tip! ♥️

I take all the feathers off my cat toys and avoid new ones with feathers. Doesn't it teach the cats to play with birds to give them toys with feathers?
@AnimalSpirit3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely, Yes! Toys made to resemble real prey definitely encourage hunting. Thank you for taking the time and care to do this.

Thank you, Anna, I have placed the hair of my cat since years already in our trees and the birds even come inside our flat and the cats house to pick up the hair - it is wonderful to watch. Unfortunately there are many people who do not like pigeons at all and they give me a hard time if I feed them. But I resist all of them, because I am an animal lover, no matter what it is!

Thank you so much Anna! I feed all my local birds using two bird feeders located about 5 feet from the ground and right now, in winter, they eat a lot LOL. I love watching them with my binoculars while I eat breakfast every morning. I like your idea of recycling cat hair, I am going to do that.

Lovely Anna! Do your cats roam outdoors? If so...they are capable of killing many birds
@AnimalSpirit2 жыл бұрын
My cats do roam outdoors and have agreed not to hunt, chase or kill birds for the past 8 years :-) I simply conveyed to them a feeling of compassion for birds, a mental image of keeping distance between their bodies and birds, the cats remaining still and simply watching, plus the message and (more importantly) the *feeling* that "Birds are our friends." Of course I checked with my cats for their agreement and even though it was reluctant, they have honoured that agreement ever since despite being around all kinds of wild birds every day, up close.

You can buy a heated birdbath or dog water bowl that won't freeze over the winter. We're using a large dog water bowl, and you just have to run an extension cord from your outdoor electric outlet. It's amazing, how many birds come by, and squirrels too. Just be sure to wash it out every several days.
@mamaboocee3 жыл бұрын
@@havanacat1 wow, I didn't know they made those! Going to get one right away! Thanks!
@dakotalake90843 жыл бұрын
@@havanacat1 I read that you are not supposed to run an extension cord which makes it difficult for most people!
