i'm finally all caught up on this series and don't know how to feel! it's almost as if i traveled 3+ years with you and your family within a mere two weeks. your guys' family had an impact on me that i truly did not foresee, but i feel so lucky and...relieved? back in the end of december i lost my great grandmother; she was the person i was closest to in the world and who truly molded me into the person i was. she was like a second mother and introduced me to love and joy itself. i have been struggling immensely with her death these last few months, especially because i lived in the same home with her. having all of her things here but not her made her feel so far away. like she was gone entirely forever in every sense of the word. but, the weirdest thing had happened after going through this little virtual journey with your family. i am not a very religious person and overall have had a rather negative view of most religions. where i'm from it is defined to an extreme- especially Christianity and it becomes more of a vessel for hatred than that of love, peace, family, and acceptance. however, your family and your "version" (for lack of a better word) of Christianity made me not only feel warmth towards religion as a whole for the first time in years, but i also felt my grandmother again. she was a devout Christian herself and i think i was so caught up in my own "religion=bad" mindset when she was still alive that i forgot to still show it respect- especially for her own sake- and to remember that not all followers of religion are negative. there are those who turn to it for faith, comfort, and love. and your family really showed me that. no one is perfect and certainly no family is, but you guys really have your own version of "perfect"- or is that just peace and harmony?- that i truly admire. i don't know if i am a devout "believer" of anything just yet by any means, but i did talk to my grandma and by proxy god as well because for the first time in a long time i felt her and finally believed she wasn't truly lost. she is here, somewhere, happy and content in that place in the sky she always talked so fondly of. and paid me a visit because i finally removed that wall between myself and this spirituality that i've been resisting for a very long time. your family showed me that not all Christians and all religious believers are as narrow-minded as i once thought. i feel happy and i don't feel so alone. maybe i am still not all too sure who or what is out there, but i finally feel that someone is and that im no longer alone. and i'm very thankful for them and your family and your introduction of true, warm, and loving spirituality to me. because of that, she is still here. and that's all i have ever wanted these last six painful months. that love and joy she had taught me so long ago are coming back to me and so is she.

The Reutter's family is surely having good time and I'm glad to know it from this and other videos. I'm also sure that your relatives are having good times, too, when they spend time together with your family. ^^ BTW, that homework of the subject "English" as a foreign language (designed originally for Japanese classmates) surely makes your twin sisters sleepy and less motivated, I can easily feel it. Why don't you give them then an additional homework given at home, more challenging one. By that I mean a typical homework given to 13-yo-girls in the US. I guess those text books are available from Amazon. "Boring" just reduces their interests in the study, I'm afraid. Vocabulary building might be a good idea, I guess. (but of course there can be better ideas.) I' d like to see their physical, mental and intellectual growth. ^^
@LIJ2 жыл бұрын
We do think that is important, so we give them additional study in English - a separate class they do online on grammar, reading and writing.

great episode. heartwarming. it's easy to say nice things when times are good, but when you are in the thick of it, it's paralyzing. been trusting and praying for months to no avail. just don't know what to do....
@LIJ2 жыл бұрын
Not knowing you or your situation at all, I do understand being in the thick of things, praying and trusting and feeling like nothing is happening. I really wouldn't be able to be so positive if it weren't for the fact that I know that God works out all things for the good of those who love Him are called according to His purpose. That means that even the bad stuff gets turned into something good when I love God. That takes a lot of pressure off, because we don't have to see the good in a difficult situation as we're going through it, we just have to keep walking and trusting. Then once we walk through it, we can look back and see that it really made us better. Don't give up!

Sorry for the sudden question. I'm an ordinary Japanese who isn't Christian, I like the movie "The Passion of the Christ" released in 2004. I also have a DVD and watch in many times. I usually just like and watch it as a movie, as a story, What do you think of this movie, Mr. Tyler? I would like to ask if you like.
Great question - I still haven't found a place I like better than my own bathroom, where Ruth cuts our hair! For Ruth it's a little more complicated though...
