There’s a KZbinr from Brazil who camps out of a classic VW beetle. He removed the back seat and the passenger seat to setup a bed. I’ve thought about doing the same with my 66 beetle. His videos are cool. ✌️

My family, friends and work colleagues think I'm stupid by living in my car fitted with a tentbox. I've been kicked out of my house due to no fault of my own so i thought I'd try something new. I'm an avid hiker and camper so I'm already kitted out and experienced. Now with winter here, i can get my cold weather kit out of my storage unit and put the summer kit back into storage. The only issue is being judged too quickly by other people whilst parking up.

Car camping is nothing to be ashamed of. I totally understand why you need complete control of where you decide to go to and you don't want to be tied down to booking ahead anywhere. You can't always find a campsite where you want to stay and you still need to charge your electronics. I don't have a Jackery, I have an inverter with about 250-300 W output which is enough to power a laptop. You have to be a bit disciplined about charging to make sure all your devices are fully charged. As well as the laptop I have my phone, smart watch and camera and I have just bought a drone. I also made a sleeping platform which fits in one side of the boot, and it has a folding lid so all the bedding can be stowed inside during the daytime. I wash in a folding bowl and I have curtains and extra lighting inside my car. Another nice tip is a soft drawstring bag to put clothes in and you can then lie on them without them getting too creased. The car? Skoda Octavia, which is a bit longer than your Nissan. It must be almost 2m from the back of the front passenger seat to the back of the boot lid, so I have a comfortable bed where I can really stretch out. Headroom is limited but no more than it is in a backpacking tent. I don't know that I will do too much more to my car because I have got to the stage where I now want a camper van. Not a lumbering great grundy bin the size of a country bus but a tidy little van about the same size as a normal family car, so I can do all the things I am doing now in a little more comfort and also be able to cook inside when the weather is not very nice.

Loving the car camping shambles 😂👌😁 I sleep in my berlingo and live on the road being a dirtbag as your video said, never knew that term before 😁 I'm from Pitlochry, it's just below the cairngorms on the A9 from Perth to Inverness, you've maybe passed it on your travels🤔 I'm in Dorset atm do you car camp often🤔 you should do a group car camp somewhere 😁💚 Bodging is the way forward hahaha the bare necessities is all you need! Living minimalist and off grid is so important to me, I need wild spaces and think it's really important for good mental health to be in the wilderness relying on yourself

Dont miss the midges in Scotland! I was walking into Kyleakin when they descended on me like a fire, it really was like opening a super hot oven. I had no protection that day, the local guys working on the bridge (1993) covered themselves in grease from their tool kits for protection.

I didn’t know I was a dirtbag lol. I started a KZbin channel but in all honesty I’m awful at it because of technology and being caught up in the moment and forgetting to use my phone camera to capture my adventures. I have made very basic videos using iPhone and iMovie. If you haven’t been to my island of Ireland I recommend highly you experience an adventure on my island and if you need any tips please don’t hesitate to ask. Great video once again many thanks Davy

Hey Becky great video , I'm sure i passed you when you were doing this trip , was with 3 of my mates doing the WHW early June we were leaving Kingshouse in the morning (Tuesday)I'm sure, heading for the devil's staircase and beyond, it was after we had passed you heading in the opposite direction we passed your car which I recognised from your videos and thought hey that was Girl outdoors we passed there lol, anyway we ended up going right through to FW got there about 9 in the evening abs shattered . A stunning walk from start to finish, 6 days, the scenery was amazing and people friendly - longest pub crawl I've ever been on 🍻, inspired by watching all these great videos on here to get out and enjoy the best wee country in the world , thanks x

I was the first like! 7 views though. Hmm...l camped last week where I knew there to be no water. I had brought rubbing alcohol and toweling to bird bath. In shorts I walked a short distance through saw grass. With many small cuts on my legs the bird bathing came to an abrupt halt. Cheers!

@@panthros7395 no, i dont think they are like mosquitos. They are so small that an individual midgie is virtually invisible. But they can swarm in millions. Exposed skin can be covered by so many to appear black. And they bite. Thousands of tiny small bites drives you insane!
